The Texaco symbol: An exercise in the collective unconscious - Part 3 - Does the "T" altar represent the Irminsul?

I once heard an occult researcher refer to the Texaco symbol as a pentagram with an altar in front of it. However, could it be a Listian Vehme star rose with an Irminsul in front of it? Guido von List called the common "welcome star" or "barn star"--usually black in color--as an ancient Germanic symbol.... apparently with partly the same basic meaning as the neopagan pentagram. In other words, an ancient European version of the Indo-European or Sumerian pentagram. Actually von List made reference to the Vehme star (also: five-angled star, Truthenfuss, barn star, or welcome star), the Vehme star rose (Pentacle star with outer circle), and the Vehme cross (occultic "exoteric Christian cross" with a hidden "fifth point").

"Barn star" (Vehme) of German origin
The Texaco logo mostly fits the description of the Vehme star rose as it has the "circle of nature" around it... although not with the pentagram design. In any case, it could at least fit the definition of the Germanic Vehme star (barn star). The "T" certainly looks close enough to a Germanic Irminsul as corporate logos go. Also the colors red and green; the land-based "colors of nature."According to von List, the solid Vehme star/barn star represents "revolving or turning generation,""rebirth," or "return." In other words, the "cycle of nature" and the "elements of nature." A red Vehme star with a green Irminsul in front of it.

An Irminsul is an altar to the Germanic god Irmin... which may have been a representation of Odin, Tyr, or another Germanic god. Some of the meanings were probably lost after Charlemagne had virtually all of them in central Europe destroyed. It sounds like it was an altar to the Germanic god or goddess of choice in the community in which it was constructed. Occasionally, "Irminism" is used as an alternate name for Germanic Neopaganism. Again..... a green Irminsul... in front of a red Vehme star.... surrounded by an outline of the circle of nature. A living green altar to the Germanic gods, within the circle of nature, and amid the literal blood-red (DNA) regeneration of nature and all of it's elements.

In the red and white Texaco symbol, one can see what appears to be an altar upon a hill or raised platform, and perhaps against the morning or evening sun. If you stare at it, it's as though your subconscious ancestral memory is telling you to ascend the platform. Then compare it to the Irminsul image, also sitting upon a raised platform. Is the Texaco symbol the spirit of Wotan (Irmin) within the five elements (Vehme) of nature (circle)? I had said it in yesterdays posting on a different topic, and I'll say it again... all of you Asutrar, Odinists, Wotanists out there should be all over this. Take the symbol back... "recapture the flag." Reappropriate.

Excerpts from EnglishNews.org ("English Asatru News") Irminsul page:

"Irminsul is a pure and ancient Germanic symbol. The name Irminsul is of Old Saxon origin meaning “arising pillar”, or "great pillar that supports”. The concept of Irminsul and its iconic, unique shape is found within the most ancient pure Germanic languages and history, from Sweden to Switzerland..."

"The Irmin component of the name is an Old Saxon adjective that transliterates as “colossal strength” or “Great/strong ”. Irminsul in its literal interpretation potentially refers to the Germanic spiritual concept of spiritual pillars, Irminsuls which are pillars that were used as totems, or statues of worship in the classic shape."

"The name Irmin potentially refers to one of the alternate regional Old Saxon names for Tyr or more realistically with Woden/Wotan/Odin. As the Old Norse attested equivalent of Irmin is Jörmunr which is a name/title ascribed to Woden/Wotan/Odin."

"It should be noted that through Old Norse alone over 220 names of deities have been attributed to different aspects or titles for Odin alone, such as Grim, Hárr, Gondlir and Jörmunr. Factor in all the Old English, Old German and regional variations, the names of Odin must over our entire history have numbered into the thousands."

"The Plague of Three" upon Folkish Neopaganism

.
[2-2-17 Retraction regarding this article]

Personally, I don't mind the term "Pagan," ("country dweller") since it's part of our history. After Christianity took over by force, "native believers"---those who believed in the spirituality of their own ancestors---were often relegated to the rural countryside, often outside of mainstream society. I know some do not like that term. It could be said that there are now some small but somewhat significant folkish-spiritual movements in what was once the Eurocentric "west." In some ways, the sophisticated folkish-spiritual movements of the other two chief racial types of the Americas could also be included here due to their own smaller issues of harassment or mockery directed at them. I'm specifically referring to the inherent worth of these various systems.

The Plague of Three

1) Cultural Marxism

Everyone is at least partly "Socialist" since everyone seeks, even in a small way, to reward someone while punishing someone else. Like Capitalism, it's part of the recipe for civilization. Cultural Marxism is simply "rich man's Socialism." Nothing about it actually helps anyone. It's another control mechanism for the masses... "transvestite rights instead of worker rights" (hint hint). The transnational banks and corporations grow with unbounded power... but at least men can use the women's bathrooms! By actual definition, Hillary Clinton is almost as far right as one can get; people only perceive that she's on the left.

The "neopagan movement(s)" is unique in that it has slowly but steadily grown without the aid of any outside help or promotion. There won't be any "Germanic Heathenry Studies Department" at a major university any time soon. There's a natural missing puzzle piece in people's lives, which isn't available to them in mainstream society, and they have discovered what it is for themselves. To put it bluntly, this first category is generally made up of "anti-white bigots" at large; and it makes little difference what the person may look like as they plunge the dagger in. It's to the point where a small and totally non-political private folk group can be attacked for merely existing. It makes one wonder what they're so afraid of?

While there's an element of this antagonistic politic which is funded by the usual suspects like the Ford Foundation, most of it is made up of hipsters who are defacto foot soldiers for "political correctness." Political correctness is another tool in this "rich man's Socialism" construct. It's all perception since these same forces destroy societies and fund genocide around the globe without criticism from the controlled hipsters. "Social justice" is only for whom the transnational cartels say it's for... all while they eliminate whole rural societies in some cases.. to get at their natural resources. I would argue that these antagonistic hipsters are partly guilty for crimes against humanity since they do whatever these powers steer them to do. If you're helping genocidists, then you're guilty of it.

There are various groups which call themselves names like Heathens Against Hate. This may sound like a good proactive concept; an attempt to keep things on a logical path. Actually it isn't. These are people who call themselves Heathens, but can't imagine why anyone could possibly think that any European tradition would have anything to do with European ancestry? There's apparently an old multinational secret society called The Odin Brotherhood, which is concerned about the Islamic invasion of Europe. While the concept appears to project strength, their only concern is religious freedom. In other words, they can't imagine why anyone would believe that Odinism would have anything to do with one's ancestry? On their forum, someone suggested the ancestral-spiritual concept. I remember one guy responding, and you could just feel the utter internal agony in his words. He was mortified.

Even the mere term "Odinism" is considered a racist concept by many. Gee, I can't even keep up with all of the dos and don'ts anymore! There was one Christian video on YouTube where, if I remember correctly, an American Christian college girl tried to sign up for some type of work/study project at a supposedly "Asatru" company located in one of the Scandinavian countries. I bring this up only as a warning of what's out there. Some Heathens are much the same as Wiccans, or perhaps worse.. as in this case. In a letter to one official in this company, the young woman stated that she was a Christian. The response by this man was so sexually and violently profane, that I can't repeat it here. Beyond his stunning dishonor, he fully associated Asatru as a homosexual movement. I can recall one so-called "Heathen" blog in which the author, to an extreme degree, associated Heathenry with Communism... and went on at length in an attempt to prove it. Needless to say, he didn't believe that Heathenry had a damn thing to do with ancestry!

Other blogs, Wiccan and Heathen, are rabid about spotting "racism"... just like "witch hunters" of the Middle Ages. Frequently they make it a point to bring up folkish neopagan racists, and state how they're not allowed. Within cultural Marxism, "rich man's Socialism," the promotion and obsession of these "ISMS" are designed to destroy the rights of workers and small business people on numerous fronts. The only real "ISM" involved here is socio-economic Classism. This controlled-opposition has transformed the mainsteam "Left" into an anti-Labor and pro-war mongering movement. These white middle class hipsters and anarchists won't protest the military manufacturing plants as they roam around trying to spot a racist behind every tree.

I believe that Wiccans have done some good things. However, very often they just simply cannot stop talking about homosexuality. I remember visiting the website of one Wiccan radio program from Massachusetts. It seemed like such a great idea; to have a whole program on some small station. When I listened to the archives, programs would begin and they would go on the first ten minutes without talking about anything other than the gay movement. Hmm... I like tall women.. does anyone want to hear me talk about it at length? Sexuality is, and always will be, a personal thing. No intelligent person wants to hear about it. It's pretty clear that homosexuality is very important on the minds of most Wiccans.. mostly likely because of the perceived need to not be like Christians.

I think that folkish traditions should be about respect... from all sides. Unfortunately it doesn't happen often. I have observed online a few different folkish racial factions extending goodwill to each other in a small way. I think there's some potential for that sort of thing since they would or should have more in common than not. I remember watching a YouTube video about Shintoism once, and what seemed to be a young white guy commented that he wanted to become a Shintoist. Many Native American groups have now begun to close their rituals to the public because people like this guy simply will not leave them alone! I looked up Druidic groups in California one time, and saw some "Druids" who were not even of European descent. There's one YouTube video of a white guy marrying a Mexican gal in an "Asatru wedding"... with her father giving away the bride. They were very Mayan. Would it be fair to ask the groom as to why he would be interested in Asatru, an ancestral religion, in the first place? There are some Heathens who believe that "the gods" want them to intermarry with other races.

2) Social Science

The real job of Social Scientists is to make the world safe for global predatory monopoly Capitalism... PERIOD. This is the reason that Jeffrey Kaplan gets to be practically the spokesman for the Asatru Folk Assembly, of which he hates because it's "European and folkish"... all the while he ignores certain powerful people who have eliminated entire societies in the Third World! In his politic, that's not "racism." The word "racism" was invented by a man whose political group helped mass murder over 60 million people who just happened to be of a different race and religion than they were.

There are hundreds upon hundreds of self-interest racial/ethnic groups of every kind in California. The system has made it crystal clear that any European collective concept is off limits. Perhaps we can refer to this rule as "Kaplan's Law." There can, however, be Irish, Italian, German, Croatian, etc. clubs/groups; probably because the social controllers don't want to butt heads with people of certain ethnic backgrounds, and the number of these groups are pretty small and quiet anyway. However, according to Kaplan's Law.. anything white or European is "Nazi." Some years ago, in a Bay Area high school which was about 20% white, some students formed a "white students union" of which there are many well established racially-based students unions all over the state. Immediately the ADL was called in to investigate. This political dynamic has grown with leaps and bounds in recent years.

Even if a person is not anti-white, they can still be an incredible pest! Sabina Magliocco is a professor of Anthropology and Folklore at California State University, Northridge. In the name of paying the bills, she injects herself into anything and everything "Italian-American and Pagan," despite the fact that these traditions are very small in the U.S. She feels that it's her duty and right to fully dress them down to size for close in-depth analysis... even to the point of calling those in these tiny communities "liars." Apparently our traditions are none of our business! It's important to realize that she isn't part of these communities at all. It's all only for that all-important direct deposit. Another example of state-funded intrusion upon others [This paragraph has been retracted 2-2-17].

3) National Socialism

Since European people merely existing is "racist" to some, this subject is in sore need of some rational definition. The Third Reich only lasted about a dozen years, yet it still captures the scorn and imagination of many; while the British Empire lasted centuries, dominating everything in its sight, yet with little criticism or admiration. Part of this is due to the fact that the NAZI's embraced what we think of as Germanic Neopaganism. Ironically, if you examine it closely for a long period of time, you may come to realize that what they espoused was actually something closer to possible spiritual concepts from the original Teutonic homeland of very ancient times. In any case, this connection is often brought up by enemies of Asatru from every stripe as this reconstruction has slowly grown in recent years. Small movement, big enemies. However, certain people who have embraced Germanic neopaganism have certainly helped promote the idea of this connection. As to whether or not they actually feel a spiritual tie to it, or are merely using it for political purposes, can only be speculated on.

As a consequence of all this, influential groups like the ADL or the SPLC release a lists of "hate symbols," which includes many symbols of Heathenry, such as the Othala. In fact, the Othala has been projected as the next Swastika... a symbol to be banned in some capacity within this ongoing neo-witchhunt. You can only take so many backward steps towards the edge of the cliff. Still, one can't deny the reckless usage of sacred symbols by so-called Neo-Nazis. Just as a general rule, it's probably not a good idea to overtly mix one's spirituality with any political construct. However, both the far right and far left do it incessantly. I can recall one YouTube video where some very left leaning political activist made a video after he had just--likely very ingenuinely--converted to Wicca. He was displaying his Pentacle Star overtly while politicking, and it just looked so stupid.

There are also non-European American groups which are very similar to Neo-Nazi or KKK groups. While facebook will not tolerate any European-American collective concept at all, they tolerate groups like the New Black Panther Party and La Raza--both of whom have had individuals in an official capacity clearly call for racial violence and murder--and a group calling itself United Pagans of Color. They espouse a long held infantile fantasy, present across many races, of somehow every race teaming up against a particular race.. which has never actually ever occurred in that particular manner. In this case against white people, and they go on at length about the evils of white people... all under the approving eye of facebook. I use them as an example since they would be the equivalent of Neo-Nazi Heathenry.

'Ariosophy and the Runes'

[The Occult History of the Third Reich]

"To me, only that which makes me wise is worth knowing."

-- Rudolf John Gorsleben

“Rune-magic is the great knowledge of cosmic energies, the recognition of hidden energies of nature, of the subtle heavenly, as well as earthly streams, waves, entities, and powers.

"All forms of higher wisdom, all secret knowledge of the world, are but fragments, and through the course of time have been for the most part distorted and corrupted; but at one time it had its origin in the divine, Aryan magic of the Runes.

"The Germanic Runic script is the script of all scripts. Runes are not just letters or verbal symbols, but primal symbols of a living magical nature which whisper to us.”

-- Siegfried Adolf Kummer

Armanism and Ariosophy are the names of ideological systems of an esoteric nature, pioneered by two völkisch occultists & scholars, Guido von List and Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels respectively, in Austria between 1890 and 1930. List also used the name Wotanism for his studies and ideology, whereas Lanz also used the names Theozoology and Ario-Christianity.

The two authors inspired numerous others and a variety of organizations in Germany and Austria of that time. They were part of a general occult revival in Austria and Germany of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, (see Introduction - the Occult), loosely inspired by historical Germanic paganism and traditional concepts of occultism, and related to German romanticism.

The connection of this Germanic mysticism with historical Germanic culture, though tenuous, is evident in the mystics' fascination with runes, in the form of List's Armanen runes and Nordic Mythology.

'Why is the Occult so Associated with Satanism?'

By Catherine Beyer - Alternative Religions Expert - about.com/religion

A common view of the occult is that it either is Satanic, or that it at least employs symbols that have long been accepted as Satanic. In fact, neither is true. People have talked of the “occult” for hundreds of years without any Satanic implication.

Most of the associations between the occult and Satanism only came about in the 19th century, in the wake of occultists like Aleister Crowley and Eliphas Levi. These figures were not Satanists either, but some did use more Satanic-like imagery, and some of their images have been embraced by modern Satanists.

*************************

To the elite Satanists, any deity which fits the general Christian perception of "the Devil" is SATAN. Molech, Ba'el, Pan, Cernunnos, Lucifer, etc. They've bought the whole Medieval Christian perception hook, line, and sinker. Don't let'em fool you that they're Atheists, they're absolutely obsessed with the Bible; particularly the Book of Revelation where they see Satan as coming out on top. They've also co-opted the seasonal festivals from European pre-Christian traditions; again buying into the old Christian Medieval perceptions. In other words, they so often claim to be in opposition to Christianity; yet they are practically in ideological lockstep with Medieval Christian Inquisitors! How come they're in agreement on some things and not others? The reason is because they've willed themselves into existence through their real daddy... Christianity.

What makes it even worse is that modern Satanism is based on the mere Christian myth of an underground army of Satan which didn't even exist!! Additionally, Satanists feel an attachment to the real victims of "the burning times." Most modern neopagans at least have the sense not to allow themselves to be part of the negative aspect of Christian myth. For those reasonable Christians; or Satanic-Atheists who merely hold a simple set of beliefs based on certain greed, indulgences and reasonable criticism of society; or even perhaps practitioners of ancient Phoenician/Saturnian traditions... I'm not talking about you. Saturn ("Satan") is a big part of everyone's history; not just the Hollywood/entertainment occult and their loud hideous expressions. They can't even say what's on their mind in plain English! Lastly, have you ever seen a Satanist confront Islam?

Sorry.. I'm just about at wit's end with these fakers. You should look up on YouTube "Satanic Hollywood." Some of the content on these videos are true, some is exaggerated in some areas or perhaps there's a certain slant. Just use the power of your own mind with logic. There has obviously been something profound going on for a long time, which is multifaceted and multilayered... and not from just one source. Deeper than surface groups like Anton Levey's Church of Satan, and deeper than underground groups like the Process Church, there apparently is a very deep horizontal association called "Satan's World Church" of which very little is known. Back when Leftist icons the Grateful Dead were members of the Bohemian Club... and rubbing shoulders with the global corporate and financial far Right... people should have recognized that we've been had. Why are anti-war activists in the same club as bankers who start and fund both sides of wars?

The history of our solar system is so different than the official story. There were highly advanced, very human-like beings living all over the solar system at one time. There was a major war in which the surface and atmosphere of the planet Mars was destroyed. Lots of clearly artificial debris can easily be found and verified online. Hollywood has had a field day during the last forty years hinting at this history; 'Star Wars', the Superman movies (especially the 2nd), '2001', 'Prometheus', etc. A very interesting interview with David Wilcock regarding the book can be heard below. On top of the obvious symbolism, the mention of "Valhalla!" leaves no doubt that they were to have been from an Odinic culture. The source of inspiration was likely the popular cable TV series 'Vikings' which airs another season in a couple of weeks.

Among other things, the Vikings were significant because they were the last great European Pagan Empire; albeit largely a "trading empire." Although they were cast as Vikings in this ad, in my perception, the black skull and crossbones somehow suggests the Goths.

Pennsylvania history of magic, occultism, and folklore

Poke Runyon is a legend within American Hermeticism--aka Alchemy--and he's still going strong with weekly podcasts at Blog Talk Radio every Thursday. There's a good variety of various interesting subjects. Of course, the German magical traditions have long been prevalent in rural Pennsylvania, so this subject immediately caught my eye. I don't know of any American region where Stregheria has any particular presence, although I have have hypothesized about Upper Michigan Alpine "folk medicine."

Boeing X-37

The Boeing X-37, also known as the Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV), is a reusable unmanned spacecraft. It is boosted into space by a launch vehicle, then re-enters Earth's atmosphere and lands as a spaceplane. The X-37 is operated by the United States Air Force for orbital spaceflight missions intended to demonstrate reusable space technologies. It is a 120%-scaled derivative of the earlier Boeing X-40.

Aside from obvious black ops programs, the X-37 spaceship itself is a remarkable vehicle. The importance of which has been downplayed. This spaceship is able to re-enter earth's atmosphere without being damaged just for starters. Apparently, but not fully provable yet, NASA has a fleet of these craft which has conducted many missions..far beyond what is admitted currently.

The Holographic Universe

The below video is part one of a five part series regarding the unfolding mainstream scientific endeavor of trying to understand matter. It's one of those videos where if you merely start to watch, you may find that you will just want to keep going. I think just watching the first video is sufficient to getting the gist of it. Did you know that during experiments, now known to be true with 100% accuracy, that electrons conduct themselves differently depending on whether or not they're being directly "watched" by someone during the experiment itself. From our understanding, this of course shouldn't be.. but it is; and this is the mainstream talking!

I don't really agree with the wording that it used however. It leaves the laymen with the impression that our physical world literally doesn't exist. A better analogy would be to focus on how matter is viewed. The majority of matter we cannot even see from our perspective. Another way to look at it is the video game example, where the more we learn about particles of matter, the more it looks like pixels of a video game. It's as if we are part of some grand (from our limited perspective) computer-simulated world, created by someone or something.

Another aspect of this is that if we look at the entirety of the known universe, especially between the galaxies, it's very empty. We only perceive it to be "full of stars and stuff." When magnifying particles down to the sub-atomic level, there are comparatively large expanses of "space" like "little universes." Therefore, how do we know that we aren't looking at this all wrong; and that we may be a "tiny universe" within say the fingernail of some "being" in a larger universe... or that the universe of this "being" isn't merely part of..... well, you get the point.

Queen Wealtheow In the 2007 film 'Beowulf'

This character of Wealthow was played by Robin Wright Penn in a semi-animated portrayal. She appeared so docile and beautiful, yet still such a strong character. Two memorable songs, in which she sang and played the harp, were 'Gently As She Goes' and 'A Hero Comes Home'.

This was a rather enlightening, California/Nevada Odinic leadership panel, question and answer session. Some interesting ideas are floated around here.

Question about "Double-Algiz" symbol

I wanted to know if, in fact, the symbol shown here is an actual sign? I assigned the name "Double-Algiz" to it, as it appears like a Life Rune with double-petals so to speak.

'Sister Golden Hair' by America (1975)

I don't mean to read too much into something, but this song feels to me like a light tribute to Germanic or blonde beauty... behind what was obviously a simple ode to a young woman. I remember some years ago, taking an evening class at the College of San Mateo one summer. A 30ish sort've long-haired hippyish guy had a crush on this young 20ish woman from Russia. She was a tall, slender, very pretty blonde with a humble personality. He was tactful, but he tried to convey across some sort of expression of his like for her, although he didn't overstep his bounds. I recall of him saying to this young immigrant woman, something like "we're glad to have you here Zoya."

Ancient Aliens - 'The Viking Gods' - Part 2

I finally saw the final episode for season three, 'The Dead', which was one of the best ones so far in the popular series. Clearly, each season has received more of a budget as the program has grown in popularity. If you go to the 'Vikings' History channel site, there is an online store with posters, clothing, dvds, music, jewelry, throw pillows, tote bags, etc. This could foster more interest in the Asatru movement, if the interested individual can comprehend that Asatru wasn't only a "Viking religion."

The Pagan-Asatru band featured is "Wardruna" from Norway, which apparently produced much of the music from the show. This could also foster interest in the pagan music genre as well. Those who will seek out other bands from this multifaceted genre will be surprised at how much is out there.

The spiritual tradition of "the Seer" character is apparently not an Asatruar, but an adherent of "Norse witchcraft." The general theme of Viking paganism was stronger in season three. Floki, in particular, was guiding by the Odinic spiritual tradition... by "the gods." He felt betrayed by Ragnar for his conversion to Christianity. Also, Lagertha's line "If you’ve gone to heaven, then we will never meet again. And yet, I think Odin will ride like the wind and rescue you, and take you to Valhalla where you belong. And there we shall meet again, and fight, and drink, and love one another."

There are many bloggers and forums which have followed the series, such as "Vikings - Fan Site, News and Recaps for History Channel's Vikings." There are numerous sub-plots ready to unfold for season four. Part of what I'm getting at here is that the Vikings were the last great "Heathen Nation" in Europe. This sets it aside from a series about any other post-Roman/Constantine European or Western nation. I know there will be many who will take that first step and google for more information about that "Viking religion." Then the second step, when they type in a search for "Asatru today" or "Odinism modern." Even if one is from a different folk path, it still bridges that disconnect.

I found the character of the Parisian Princess Gisla to be a strong and moving character. During the Viking attack, she stood along the top of the walls of Paris and urged on the defenders of the city. She displayed class and leadership qualities, only to be forced into a marriage with the enemy as it was. That final scene of her standing in her royal clothing and expressing her disgust was one that would get one's attention. If it was shown in a movie theater, dressed in animal furs and with long hair, Rollo's response of saying "hello" in French and then smiling would have received much laughter. Also, of course, the best scene with Ragnar jumping out've the boat/casket! Perhaps his "conversion" was faked?

It probably should be mentioned that--although France had every right to defend itself against the Viking horde--this was only after centuries of extreme Christian aggression against any traditions or ideas which were native to northern Europe.

The "Hexenwolf" legend

Since this posting is Germanic/Heathen in nature, I wanted to add one related article: 'The Legendary Hexenwolf'. This is a part of German-American folklore.

An interesting name

According to IMDb.com, regarding the surname of actor Bob Odenkirk ('Breaking Bad'; 'Better Call Saul'): His last name means "Church of Odin" in Old Norse. It was spelled "Oatencirck" many generations back, and originated with a German immigrant ancestor.

5-11-15 Addition: According to IMDb.com, regarding the given name of the actress Thora Birch ('American Beauty'; 'Ghost World'): Her parents, Jack Birch & Carol Connors, thought that she would be a boy, and planned on naming the child Thor, after the Norse God of Thunder and Lightning. When she was born, however, her parents feminized the name and called her Thora.
