'A Mountain Rose'

My mother lived in Kelseyville, CA for many years, at the base of Mt. Konocti (elev 4,305 ft)

'A Mountain Rose'

Her brood hailed from the highlands,
Tantamount to the sky's islands.
Now so very distant from those ancient shadows,
Still in the blood, she remains a wiley and radiant mountain rose.
For me, this woman was my teacher more than any other,
So proud that she was my mother.

Total Wine & More: 6 wines available from Lombardia - 4 of them from the famous Franciacorta wine region in Brescia!

L'Albereta Hotel at the L'Albereta Winery, Erbusco, Brescia (Franciacorta wine region)

Franciacorta wine region

Ancient Viticulture

The vineyards of Franciacorta were planted in ancient times, as witnessed by the grape seeds from prehistoric times and the archaeological material found throughout the territory. There are also other testimonies of classical authors such as Plinio and Columella a Virgilio. Through historiographical evidences it is possible to trace the passage of different peoples: the Cenomani Gauls, the Romans and the Lombards. The most abundant material is the Roman one and consists mainly of commemorative funeral inscriptions and military stones. Also some places' names and localities' names, such as Cazzago and Gussago, come from Roman courtesy.

The most valuable archaeological resource is the temple architrave (from Erbusco) that was brought to Brescia and then walled in the facade of the palace of Monte di Pietà della Loggia.

Franciacorta vineyard in Erbusco

Modern Viticulture

Despite boasting a long history, the new course of viticulture of Franciacorta began in all respects at the beginning of the Sixties with the birth of the first wineries. At the end of the Seventies, Italian enology experienced a period of great ferment and in Franciacorta several entrepreneurs invested and focused on the cultivation of vineyards. In fact, even today many wineries that produce Franciacorta have been founded by entrepreneurs from Brescia and province. Afterwards the growth has been very fast until today's Franciacorta fame, a national reference for the wine's production with the classic method.

The production and marketing of bubbles has become increasingly important in the last twenty years, so as to boast the DOCG brand and be known in the wine world for the high quality achieved. The name "Franciacorta" has over time become synonymous with the same DOCG sparkling wine produced in the many vineyards of the area.

Since July 2008, with the publication of the new specification, the name of the DOC "Terre di Franciacorta", used for red and white still wines, has been replaced with Curtefranca.

Today the area is just over two thousand hectares, its increase, which was considerable in the first decade of the 2000s, has now slowed sharply partly because of the global crisis. In fact, no further major growth developments are expected in the coming years. The slowdown is also due to some choices of the consortium Franciacorta aimed at not creating an excess of supply in order to safeguard the producers currently present on the territory.

In 1995 Franciacorta was assigned the first refermented in Italian bottle with the denomination DOCG. This is obtained from Chardonnay and/or Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Blanc grapes and is produced in three types: Franciacorta, Franciacorta Satèn and Franciacorta Rosé. In addition to these, Millesimato and Riserva, which require longer aging, are also produced. Franciacorta has also two other DOC denominations: a white wine and a red wine.

The wine cellars are over one hundred and some are located in buildings of artistic and architectural interest. They are open to the public, so the visitor can learn about the methods of wine production, participate in tastings and buy the product.

Franciacorta DOCG

Franciacorta is a sparkling wine from the Province of Brescia (Lombardy) with DOCG status. It is produced using the traditional method from grapes grown within the boundaries of the territory of Franciacorta, on the hills located between the southern shore of Lake Iseo and the city of Brescia. It was awarded DOC status in 1967, the designation then also including red and white still wines. Since 1995 the DOCG classification has applied exclusively to the sparkling wines of the area.

History

The still wines from this area have ancient traditions, referred to by Virgil and Pliny the Elder, and documented in Brescia City council books as "Franzacurta" as far back as in 1277. The name may derive from the tax-exempt (francae) status of the region's towns (curtes) in the Middle Ages. The wines were not called Franciacorta until 1957, when Guido Berlucchi released a white wine named Pinot di Franciacorta. An ambitious young winemaker working for Berlucchi, Franco Ziliani, was permitted to pursue an ambition of producing a fine sparkling wine, and in 1961 was allowed to produce for release 3,000 bottles of a sparkling wine, also sold under the name Pinot di Franciacorta.

Instant interest allowed the following vintage production to be set at 20,000 bottles, and eventually the annual production was 100,000 bottles. The national prominence that followed was soon exploited by several entrepreneurs from Milan and Brescia, and by the time the region was granted DOC status in 1967 there were 11 producers of sparkling Franciacorta, although Berlucchi represented more than 80% of the production.

With its directives, Franciacorta became the first DOC to specify that its sparkling wines must be made by metodo classico. In 1990, the Consorzio per la tutela del Franciacorta was formed, instigating codes of self-regulation with a gradual reduction of yields and elimination of the use of Pinot grigio, becoming the body considered responsible for the efficient elevation of sparkling Franciacorta to DOCG status in 1995. Since August 1, 2003, Franciacorta has been the only Italian wine not obliged to declare its DOCG appellation on the label, in the same manner that a Champagne is permitted to exclude from labels its AOC.

From 1996 to 2006, sales of Franciacorta grew from 2.9 million to 6.7 million bottles. According to Tom Stevenson, the Franciacorta region is "the only compact wine area producing world class sparkling wine in Italy."

Vineyards in Valtellina

In Valtellina, wines are produced mainly from Chiavennasca (the local name of Nebbiolo grape variety) with other minor varieties such as Rossola nera permitted up to 20% for the Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC) and 10% for the Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG). Grapes are limited to a harvest yield of 12 tonnes/ha. The finished wine must be aged for at least 2 years prior to release (3 years if a Riserva bottling) with a minimum alcohol level of at least 11%. Yields for the DOCG wines are further restricted to a maximum of 8 tonnes/ha. While the aging requirements are the same as the DOC, the minimum alcohol level for the DOCG wine is 12%.

The best-known villages for red wines are: Grumello, Sassella, Inferno, Valgella, and Maroggia. The village names are normally indicated on the label. Additionally there is an Amarone style DOCG wine called Sforzato (Sfursat).

Valtellinese wines, such as Il Pettirosso Valtellina Superiore 2016, are easy to purchase online. Total Wine & More stores are all over the country, so I thought that was more noteworthy that you could just walk in and purchase a Franciacorta if one was nearby. I found one Valtellina winery--Bagera Vini di Valtellina--which as a U.S. website: www.ViniBagera.us and facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BalgeraViniDiValtellina/

Final thoughts

Of course there are some wineries right here locally which are still in the hands of the same old Swiss Italian/Ticinese families, such as the Nichelini Winery in St. Helena, California founded in 1890. They now have a Wikipedia page as well: Nichelini Family Winery. If you're never visited there, make sure that you do! That incredible home that sits above a stone mason cellar was constructed by Anton Nichelini 130 years ago, and it's beautiful as well as the property that sits along the edge of the wooded valley.

Another interesting winery is Raffaldini Vineyards in Ronda, North Carolina. Founded by Jay Raffaldini whose family roots are in Mantua (Mantova). According to the website: "In 2009 Raffaldini Vineyards was voted one of the top ten new vineyards in all of North America, the first time any such vineyard from the Mid Atlantic received that award." The winery hosts a Festa Italiana every fall season. Of course, these wines can be ordered online.

'NASA Spots Curious New Crater on Mars'

By Tim Binnall - CoastToCoastAM.com - June 18, 2019

NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter recently caught sight of a curious new feature on the surface of the Red Planet: a fresh crater. The impact site, which reportedly measures around 50 feet wide, was photographed by the satellite back in April and the image was released to the public this week. Based on past observations of the area, it is believed that the crater was created sometime in the last three years.

In a testament to the awesome power of mother nature, even in space, astronomers say that the sizeable scar on the surface of Mars was probably created by a relatively small object of around five feet wide striking the planet. Of specific interest to scientists is that the blast wave from the formation of the crater is still distinctly visible in the image captured by the MRO.

Astronomers also note that the colorful impact site provides a glimpse of what lies beneath the dust which coats the Red Planet. To that end, they say that the dark areas in the image are probably basalt and, intriguingly, the blueish parts may actually be ice that was exposed to the Martian atmosphere by way of the impact. Between the breathtaking crater and last week's 'Starfleet logo', NASA is beginning to give amateur anomaly hunters a run for their money when it comes to finding weird stuff on Mars.

Bewitched S7 E07 - Samantha's Bad Day in Salem

Daily TV Series

************

Fictional "national gathering of witches" presented on prime time TV in 1970

In a 1970's episode of 'Bewitched' entitled 'Samantha's Bad Day in Salem', one scene (1:24) portrays her mother Endora as presiding over a modern national gathering of witches in Salem in order to select a new local coven leader. Although presented in a comedic/Halloweenish "theater" sort've manner, it still struck me as curious... especially in that America was much more "Christian" in every way at that point in time. During her talk, Endora even mentions elements of an agenda, even to the point of advocating the use of witchcraft to protect themselves if necessary in order to make certain that something such as the Salem Witch Trials would never happen again. You can decide for yourself what it might mean.

In this TV series, there were frequent trips to Salem in other episodes as well. It's as though Salem was the American capitol of witchcraft (which it later became). Also curious is the use of the term "warlock" for male witches, although most were females. I remember a few times when I used to be closer to Christian circles, including biased Christian researchers, Bill Clinton was referred to as being a warlock. In reality, he was a DeMolay occultist. In the "cult of Saturn" milieu, they're not the least bit embarrassed to present themselves and their beliefs using "the theater" and old music as their communicative method... such as with the Bohemian Club or in the fictional portrayal of a local "cult of Saturn" ritual social function in the film 'Eyes Wide Shut'.

In other words, these elitists often go in costume and assume an exaggerated Halloweenish character... and they're very serious about it. In this particular passive-aggressive episode--while the TV audience's eyes were "wide shut"---a warlock (allegorical elitist) who liked the fellow witch Samantha, and just couldn't understand what she could possibly see in her "mortal" husband. This despite the fact that her husband appeared to be loving, supportive, positive, and successful in every way. I hate to say it and be negative, but that's what these "cult of Saturn"/Globalist/elitists think of the average person.

A little bit of their true selves always seems to slip out, intentionally or not. It's also interesting that the character of the warlock was dressed as a vampire during the ritual. "Vampirism" could be applied to any human endeavor... social, political, economic, etc. Of course, it's all presented as a comedy! What kind've joykill is going to criticize something that was meant for fun? I bring all of this up advisedly since I am a Neopagan. If there is anything comedic about any of this, it's to watch these elitist/dark occultists whine and stamp their feet when their own self-serving and purpose-driven (not folk-serving or spiritual-driven) "neopagan liberation" efforts come back to haunt them by going against its underlying accompanying agenda!

Globalists/dark occultists always glom onto things, co-opt movements, and cause dissent for their own gain. They always try to appeal to greed, selfishness, self-godliness (New Age), and self-empowerment in their fake "neopagan liberation" movement; using all of the same time-honored cloak-and-dagger methods... "order out of chaos"... "problem-reaction-solution".... clandestine fake controlled-opposition plants.... "the Hegelian dialectic"... "compartmentalization." People ought to watch a new video from Truthstream Media called 'The Minds of Men'; of how these people have pumped fortunes and destroyed people in an effort to understand the human mind and how to control a population.

[Disclaimer: I'm not referring here specifically to true folk pagans, Wiccans, pagan communities in Salem, or even those who practice a true benevolent form of Saturnianism.]

The Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park

Bidwell Mansion, located at 525 Esplanade in Chico, California, was the home of General John Bidwell and Annie Bidwell from late 1868 until 1900, when Gen. Bidwell died. Annie continued to live there until her death in 1918. John Bidwell began construction of the mansion on his 26,000 acres Rancho del Arroyo Chico in 1865, during his courtship of Annie Ellicott Kennedy. After their marriage in 1868, the three story, 26 room Victorian house became the social and cultural center of the upper Sacramento Valley. Now a museum and State Historic Park, it is California Historical Landmark #329 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The mansion was a $60,000 project, and was finished in May 1868.

When constructed, Bidwell Mansion featured modern plumbing, gas lighting and water systems. The three-story brick structure is built in an informally romantic version of the Italianate style. It also has aspects of the Italian Villa and Octagon house types present. The building's exterior is finished with a pink tinted plaster.

I always regret it when I miss out on a good chance to conduct folk ritual. For example, on a clear evening. It doesn't have to be Odin or Diana.... make up your own! If you have a favorite ancestor, go out on the trail at twilight and say their name aloud! Recite some quotes or poetry out loud or give a very small food sacrifice to the earth in their honor. They're your blood. Your family bloodline is part of it too....

A Tale of Three Small Towns: Loveno, Hurley, and Brisbane

Tahquamenon River, Upper Michigan

I've gone into detail in past postings about family/DNA "energy stamps" across vast areas. The idea that we as individuals, families, and clans are tied to places in which we have never been; where out ancestors or relatives have lived in the past for long periods of time. Life's experiences---great and small, good and bad---form a geographic/meta-connection. These types of DNA energy imprints upon the earth form something of a DNA grid. Unless an individual is entirely materialistic with no folk spirituality at all, the places in which our ancestors or relatives have lived in the past means something! If we visit those places for the first time, we have come back home. This is a bit different than deja vu in which you experience something which you can connect to from a previous experience or perhaps even a previous life; either a literal place or somewhere which reminds one of a place, person, or experience. There's some conflation, but a meta-geographic connection is something different.

Ultimately, my own meta/geographic connections are only important to me/us. I'm just trying to encourage others, presumably chiefly folk-neopagans, to devote some thought to this in order to develop the concept further. This could take the form of storytelling for example. Even if a person is not directly blood-related, if they were of the same culture, they could still adopt--on a certain level--the "story" of another family... especially if that family followed a similar path... a shared history. This may sound like a funny thing to say, but I can say from experience that there are places where one could pull up a couple of fold-up chairs on a high point and tell another of a long family/clan history while literally "pointing" in the horizon at various related locations. That is if anyone could take some time out from their busy lives and the "sports and entertainment" culture to actually sit down and listen for a short while.

If the past, present, and future are not intertwined, then we have nobody to blame but ourselves. They are interconnected at all times, we just lose sight of it. One location which so much defines my family's origin is a group of small villages, the largest being Loveno. It's located on the edge of a valley and tributary river to the Val Camonica and the prominent Oi River.... called the Val Paisco. Part of this village-group connects to vast grassy hillsides from a high plateau on the Val Camonica side to the east, while another part of it lays on the edge of a much more closed-in, steep, and wooded Val Paisco to the west. Driving westward through the dense forested Val Paisco perhaps eight miles, the dense dark road opens up like heaven to a vast lowland surrounded by far off mountains. There you would see the the small beautiful town named Schilpario, which is actually in the Bergamo province (Orobie Alps) and they speak a slightly different dialect of the Lombard language than the Brescia province (Val Camonica).

Many of the words are slightly different despite the short trek. For example, on the Camunian side the word for family is "famia" (different than the Brescian "famija") while on the Orobie side the word is "famèa." It's like a subtle tribal affiliation, and we must look at it from the standpoint of history, back many centuries. For that long period of time, centuries, while they politically belonged to numerous different nations, small "tribal" differences remained in place, such as the difference in dialect. Certainly there were marriages between Camuni and Orobiesi, for example between people in Loveno and Schilpario, but the bride (in most cases) just adopted the subtly different ways of their new "tribe" so to speak. This is a place where time has stood still, and old ways remain in place. One paternal great-grandmother of mine, named Theresa, was born here in these relatively remote Alps at about 1870. Her parents were not born in "Italy," but in the Lombardo-Venetian Kingdom... a colonial possession of the Austrian Empire.

Despite being a relatively short distance from major cities--such as Milan, Bergamo, and Brescia--the rugged, mountainous, and sleepy Val Paisco was much more in tune with the vast underpopulated regions of the east Lombard Alps. Again, a place where old traditions die hard. Metaphorically-speaking, I would compare the relationship between urban Milan and the east Lombard Alps with the relationship between San Jose, California and the nearby mountainous county of Santa Cruz. So close, yet so far away. Theresa eventually joined her children and grandchildren in Hurley, Wisconsin sometime in the 1920s. Hurley had a history of Lombard and Venetian immigrants going back to the late 1880s. She must have felt at home in the rural town and within the community surrounding the old St. Mary's Catholic Church. Although the Hurley-Ironwood (Upper Michigan) area would essentially be flatland in comparison to Loveno, the eighty-mile long Gogebic Mountain Range was right nearby.

Remarkably, the tradition of mining those mountains was the same here as it was in the mountains surrounding the Val Camonica. Also the same, the mining had largely diminished there just as it had back in the Val Camonica. Hurley had once been a major and wild "frontier town" in the late 1800s, housing many miners, and crawling with vice. Even Al Capone himself was impressed with the local operations, of which he wasn't able to penetrate himself; finally just agreeing to co-operate with the local black marketeers as they smuggled liquor down from Canada through Hurley and other locations in the Northwoods. With the decline of mining and the advent of Prohibition, the town started to dry up. Only the local long-standing community remained. However then (and even today), Silver Street, which had been ground zero during the old mining and vice days, still remained a haven for bars and topless dancing. There are tours for anyone interested in that part of local history.

Sometime in the 1940s, one of my grand uncles, Frank--a nephew of Theresa--moved with his family to Brisbane, California... which was something of a "mini-Hurley" back then. The vast majority of the residents were of California-Dust Bowl heritage. In other words, they were of the millions of people who had migrated to California from Oklahoma and north Texas during the 1930s. Brisbane was their real hot spot just south of San Francisco, wth many "country western" bars along Visitacion Avenue. One such bar/night club was the semi-famous 23 Club. That local culture was going strong as late as the early 90s. Frank's move to Brisbane was the start of a long-standing family connection to the town. As amazing as it might seem, Brisbane is surrounded by San Bruno Mountain, part of the major Santa Cruz Mountain chain; and there was a large mining company in the industrial part of town, quarrying stones along one part of the mountain. The quarry has largely slowed down, but there is still a company which operates there.

Although small, Brisbane had long been well known for heavy industry. For decades, materials were brought in on train tracks from the nearby railroad which ran along the San Francisco Bay. My great grandmother, whom I never knew, had actually visited Brisbane on at least a couple of occasions. Apparently she believed in keeping the family clan together, or at least not wanting them to lose touch. Not surprising when considering that she had come from a culture in which nobody ever seemed to lose contact, unless they migrated to some faraway location like Chicago, Toronto, or Buenos Aires. The meta-connections between Loveno, Hurley, and Brisbane---and strongly considering the strong circumstantial-similarities between all three locations---is overwhelming for me. The fact that one person--Theresa--was present in all three locations, only further bolsters this DNA-connection!

I would like to encourage others--Neopagans, folk-polytheists, Asatruar, spiritually-minded genealogists and ethnologists, etc--to take another look at their own family history with new eyes relating to this "meta-geographical" concept. This isn't about "me," but I think this example hopefully can give others an impetus to take that further examination of their own family history. What does your family's Meta/DNA "grid" map look like? Are there some almost-eery "circumstantial-similarities"--not necessarily directly related to your family--present between those locales? I would especially like to encourage Asatruar or Odinists, who have been the chief driving force behind the folk-neopagan movement in recent years. Many really impressively know their local and family history, so maybe we can raise the bar on this. I think those meta-geographical connections/grids are real. I can feel it. There are connections--between various seemingly unrelated locations--which are far beyond mere faded memories. Find them!

While becoming, we discover, we already are

Martinelli's Cidery of Monterey County---with Ticinese origins---turns 150 years old

I wanted to get this in before the end of the year, as 2018 marks a century and a half of Martinelli's Cider.

'BREAK OUT THE BUBBLY: MARTINELLI’S TURNS 150!'

By Garrick Ramirez - SantaCruz.com - July 25, 2018

Beloved sparkling cider and apple juice producer S. Martinelli & Company is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, and we’re bubbling over with excitement! Founded in Watsonville in 1868—the same year Ulysses S. Grant was elected President—the effervescent company is still family-owned, locally-based, and making juice the way they always have: fresh and 100% natural. We’ve got the inside scoop below, and trust us, it gets juicy!

If you were like us, you were introduced to Martinelli’s via their iconic, apple-shaped glass bottle that you begged your mom to buy on trips to the supermarket. Then at Thanksgiving, you’d act cool filling your kids' cup with their sparkling cider from a champagne-style bottle. We weren’t the only ones pretending, either. It’s believed that Dean Martin would swig Martinelli’s—not martinis—onstage, and Martinelli’s cider would double as champagne in Hollywood movies during Prohibition.

But before the Rat Pack and 18th Amendment, there were Swiss-born brothers Stephano and Luigi Martinelli, who immigrated to the U.S. during the Gold Rush years and started farming apples in present-day Watsonville. They introduced a fermented, or “hard,” cider in 1868, and by 1885, they were churning out 15,000 gallons a year (in 2017, Martinelli’s produced that much in less than 2 hours). The brothers began racking up gold medals for their cider at state fairs which explains the medals you see on the labels today. In anticipation of Prohibition, Martinelli’s bottled its first unfermented—alcohol-free—apple juice in 1917. In 1933, the brand introduced its famous apple-glass bottle with the slogan “Drink Your Apple a Day,” and the rest is history.

Monday evening's Harvest Moon

Sometimes the exact evening of a full moon can be confused due to the exact hour/date... but this one's real simple: Monday Evening. We're having some warm weather, so it should be special as I'm hiking up to a different location. A full moon is always a great excuse for an evening hike. All I'm going to take is a portable chair, flashlight, and a 34 ounce container of cold coffee since I'm going to be out there late this time.

and thanks to fellow Youtuber, MoeruzeBurning, for the enchanting video of the birds flying away together in slow motion (^.^)

When i listen to this song, it reminds me of the Pathway back Home...A Pathway that reminds us of our Holy Connection to One another and that we are in this together...We Are One...There are many mountains we must climb & Obstacles we must face; our childhoods and the dissolving of the many layers of self, but He is always That Close and always Giving us all we need in each & every moment...all we have to do is be open to that Love

BOHEMIAN GROVE 2018 AND WHAT THEIR PLAN IS....

A Call For An Uprising

'Energies and Rituals'

By Hariulf CG - Odinic Rite - July 1, 2018

It may be that we are not aware, but as individuals, we have a great importance in the Multiverse and in Creation. As stated in a previous article (Our Personal Energy), each of us as has certain amount of personal energy. It is also important to remember that each of our actions, words and thoughts are energy. So we have all a role to play and we can all bring changes into the great Wyrd’s Web.

To better explain my idea, I will take an example. I’m sure that you all know about acupuncture. The therapist pushes a needle into a tiny skin point and the result appears in a distant and larger organ. The needle serves as a kind of “interface” to create an energy connection.

As individuals we also can, like the acupuncturist’s needle, serve as interface for the cosmic, multiversal energies.

We should imagine our Folk as a great organism and each of its members as a cell of this great body. I think that we are all aware that this body (our own Folk) is becoming ever more sick due to the degeneration of a lot of its cells.

NewGrange Hall - The First Asatru Community Hof in North America since Leif Erikson's time

*************************

This talk was given by Stephen McNallen at NewGrange Hall in 2015. I don't want anyone to absolutely hold me to the idea that NewGrange Hall is literally the first "community hof," as there may have been numerous meeting places of one type or another over the years. Of course, there have also been many smaller hofs, and I don't want to minimize that either; but apparently this is the first officially known and exclusive location. This is important---even if you're not specifically an Asutrar, or don't live close to it---as it sets an example for the folk to follow. The great Leif Erikson was both a Heathen and brief colonizer of North America a millennium ago. I think if Erikson is looking down upon NewGrange Hall, that he would be proud of what the AFA has accomplished.

I think the time has come for individuals to step up and be the satellite for what you believe... in the county you live in. One doesn't need any special permission to be an organizer where they live, and I would say that a county is just the right size region for this. It doesn't have to be literally official, and you need not a title, as you may merely be assisting the greater whole. I can think of many beautiful locations, in urban areas and not far off the beaten path, which could serve as spiritual gathering places for small groups. Sometimes when I'm at one of those special places, I experience a brief feeling of bewilderment that I'm the only person there enjoying its bliss. Think outside the box; there are many untapped resources around us. No human endeavor is real until someone uses their energy to breathe life into it.

A solar eclipse is coming to America. Here’s what you’ll see where you live.

By Casey Miller, Ryan Mark, and Brian Resnick - vox.com - Jul 25, 2017

On Monday August 21, a solar eclipse will cut across the entire United States. And wherever you are, you will be able to see it. Even though the “totality” — the area where the sun is completely blocked out by the moon — is only 70 miles wide, the whole country (even Alaska and Hawaii) will experience a partial eclipse.

This is what you’ll see, and the time you’ll see it, in your zip code.

We recommend punching in a few different ones to see how the eclipse experience will vary across the country. Salem, Oregon (97301), is going to see a total eclipse. Downtown Los Angeles (90012) will see 62 percent of the sun blocked at the peak. In Lake Charles, Louisiana (70601), it’ll be 71 percent.

L.U.C.I.F.E.R. Device and Chapel of the Holy Cross (Legend of the Verde Valley) Documentary

Mike Davis

NOTE: This is a chapter out of the series and book "Legends of the Verde Valley" which you can get by licking on the link below.

This short documentary makes a few connects between the Chapel of the Holy Cross, The L.U.C.F.E.R. Device, The Vatican, Premier Vortex location, and the possibility the church was built upon sacred ground giving rise to the question why does the church point a cross to the sky? What is it trying to signal? Questions of interest for further works in progress in this series.

In 1984, the University of Arizona and the Vatican selected Mount Graham as a site for a complex of telescopes. The fact that this is a sacred place for the Apache was not taken into consideration which would ultimately be the start of "The Long, Bitter Battle over Mount Graham."

For many Native American nations there are certain geographic places which have special spiritual meanings. These sacred places are often portals to the spirit worlds. For the Apache in Arizona, one of these sacred places is Mount Graham which is said to be one of the most holy places in the world because of the gateways and portals found there.

“L.U.C.I.F.E.R., which stands for “Large Binocular Telescope Near-infrared Utility with Camera and Integral Field Unit for Extragalactic Research,” is a chilled instrument attached to a telescope. And yes, it’s named for the Devil, whose name itself means “morning star” [and which] happens to be right next to the Vatican Observatory on Mt. Graham in Tucson.” — Rebecca Boyle, Popular Science Magazine

Why would the Vatican name one of their projects "Lucifer?" If someone is Luciferian, fine! Just say I am Luciferian. Just as with many Christians... to the  global elite, everythng is "the Devil." The Devil, Satan, Lucifer, Pan, Kali, Cernunnos, Apollo, any stag or horned fertility god, etc. Lucifer is not Satan, but there can be a conflated meaning.

I'm planning to visit the Filoli house in the next few weeks. For me it's not really the size or luxury of the house, but the space, tranquility, and especially the nearby wilderness of the Santa Cruz Mountains. I was on a trail just last night at about 10:30, dark sky, crescent moon, stars, mountain, trees and thick brush, and the howls of coyotes. Now combine that with a mansion, what could be more desirable than that? If I had a house on the edge of the wilderness, I would be happy even if I didn't have any money to speak of.

Teutonic Order Anthem

Teutonic Order

The Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem (official names: Latin: Ordo domus Sanctæ Mariæ Theutonicorum Hierosolymitanorum, German: Orden der Brüder vom Deutschen Haus der Heiligen Maria in Jerusalem), commonly the Teutonic Order (Deutscher Orden, Deutschherrenorden or Deutschritterorden), is a Catholic religious order founded as a military order c. 1190 in Acre, Kingdom of Jerusalem. Purely religious since 1929, it still confers limited honorary knighthoods.

The order was formed to aid Christians on their pilgrimages to the Holy Land and to establish hospitals. Its members have commonly been known as the Teutonic Knights, having a small voluntary and mercenary military membership, serving as a crusading military order for protection of Christians in the Holy Land and the Baltics during the Middle Ages.

If a violent foreign enemy invaded Germany,
and rioted, looted, raped, robbed, murdered, and maimed....
I wonder what the Teutonic Knights would have done?

*************************

My top 3 "move scapegoats"

1) Lynette from 'An Officer and a Gentleman'

She may have been a gold digger of sorts, but not any more so than than Paula. Talk about "projecting!" If she was guilty of anything, it certainly wasn't due to Sid's suicide! Was it her fault that he quit? NO. Was it her fault that he committed suicide? NO. Zack and Lynette didn't have a speck of evidence that she did anything wrong. In movie-fact, she did not. They had an argument because he quit, period. What would self-righteous Paula have don't differently if in the same situation? What is worse is that it's just left upon her shoulder to carry this non-existent guilt. Extremely cruel. When Paula said "God help you"... grrr

2) Christine from 'Family Business'

Jesse was not only a crook, but a proud crook who openly admired Gypsy thieves for their honesty of a clear conscience. How the hell could he call Christine a "parasite!?" Her crime was victimless to boot! Jesse's crime could have coast people's lives!! Jeopardizing people's lives so he can steal money for himself. Isn't that infinitely more parasitical? At the least, his "projection" on Christine was insanely hypocritical.

3) Randy from 'The Wrestler'

After just beginning the process of patching things up, his estranged daughter Stephanie "projected" all of her legitimate anger toward her father--literally wrote him off permanently!--all because he made one unintentional mistake. She could have said "don't call me for awhile," and put the ball back in his court... or to punish him. It was extremely cruel, but she did have old baggage as sort've an excuse.

************

'Box of Moonlight'

The late Lisa Blount, who played "Lynette," was in a very "different" sort've movie in 1996 entitled 'Box of Moonlight'. John Turturro plays the part of a construction foreman, something of a tough guy, who meets Sam Rockwell's offbeat and vulnerable character while driving out in the countryside. It's so different; it could almost take place today... or in 1950! It's like a lot of movies in that it's about a regular person having an experience, an adventure.... only it doesn't feel fake at all. The characters are real. Pretty good movie... sometimes harsh.. in other ways innocent.

At one point they're in the woods near a body of water, and they meet two sisters... one played by Lisa Blount. John Turturro's character was married, and Sam Rockwell's homeless character wasn't in any position to meet any women. They all just went swimming, without any social or sexual tension; like when you were a kid and could make a few friends like in an hour. The two sisters were like simple country girls so to speak. It's been so long since I saw it; I've forgotten the particulars, but it's a good film. Sam Rockwell is apparently from Daly City, not far from me. Lisa Blount passed away in 2010.

Flowing Hair Half Dimes (1794-1795)

I have held onto coins which I've come across over the years. I keep ones which I think have some interesting feature, such as a very rustic 1839 penny, an old German coin with a Germanic eagle, Roman coins, Indian heads, or coins with female heads that remind me of perhaps Athena or Freya. This one caught my eye recently. I like that "Lady Liberty" is presented as not really beautiful, but has a certain grand-quality to her. The eagle is really an Egyptian Phoenix due to the Masonic influence.

Another is a 1791 Scottish St. Andrews half-penny, in which the "X"--to me--could symbolize the ancient symbol of "Man." Sometimes something can just be what you want it to be. Officially he is St. Andrews, but to you it could symbolize someone else perhaps.

New Horizons Flyover of Pluto

NASA.gov Video

Using actual New Horizons data and digital elevation models of Pluto and its largest moon Charon, mission scientists have created flyover movies that offer spectacular new perspectives of the many unusual features that were discovered and which have reshaped our views of the Pluto system – from a vantage point even closer than the spacecraft itself.

This dramatic Pluto flyover begins over the highlands to the southwest of the great expanse of nitrogen ice plain informally named Sputnik Planitia. The viewer first passes over the western margin of Sputnik, where it borders the dark, cratered terrain of Cthulhu Macula, with the blocky mountain ranges located within the plains seen on the right. The tour moves north past the rugged and fractured highlands of Voyager Terra and then turns southward over Pioneer Terra -- which exhibits deep and wide pits -- before concluding over the bladed terrain of Tartarus Dorsa in the far east of the encounter hemisphere.

Digital mapping and rendering were performed by Paul Schenk and John Blackwell of the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston.

************

Watch: NASA Releases Amazing Pluto Flyby Video

To celebrate the two-year anniversary of NASA's New Horizon probe arriving at Pluto, the space agency has released a breathtaking video showcasing the notoriously distant planet.

The remarkable presentation, culled from data obtained during the 2015 study of Pluto, provides viewers with the perspective of flying over the planet from around 8,000 miles above its surface.

While there are no signs of UFOs or alien bases, the footage is still pretty awesome when one considers that Pluto, at its furthest point, sits an astounding 4.6 billion miles away from the Earth.

As such, the video constitutes what is probably the only view of Pluto that many of us will have in our lifetimes, since it's highly unlikely that humans will make their way out to the planet anytime soon.

That said, based on the barren and seemingly unforgiving landscape of the planet, we're not sure anyone would really want to visit the faraway world anyway.

Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather 2nd (TORONTO) Press Conference!

Octagon News

Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather 2nd Press Conference TORONTO! Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather Press Conference BEST MOMENTS!

Conor McGregor: Conor Anthony McGregor (Irish: Conchúr Antóin Mac Gréagóir; born 14 July 1988) is an Irish professional mixed martial artist who is currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, and former UFC Featherweight Champion. During his career, McGregor has competed as a featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight.

In 2008, McGregor started his mixed martial arts (MMA) career and, in 2012, he won both the Cage Warriors Featherweight and Lightweight Championships, holding both titles concurrently before vacating them to sign with the UFC. In 2015, at UFC 194, McGregor defeated José Aldo for the UFC Featherweight Championship via knockout thirteen seconds into the first round. This was the fastest victory in UFC title fight history. Upon defeating Eddie Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 205, McGregor became the first fighter in the UFC's history to hold titles in two weight divisions simultaneously.

He is known for being the biggest pay-per-view draw in MMA, as well as his extravagant lifestyle and trash talking.

Floyd Mayweather: Floyd Joy Mayweather Jr. (born Floyd Joy Sinclair; February 24, 1977) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1996 to 2015, and currently works as a boxing promoter. Widely considered to be one of the greatest boxers of all time, undefeated as a professional, and a five-division world champion, Mayweather won fifteen world titles and the lineal championship in four different weight classes (twice at welterweight).[1] As an amateur, he won a bronze medal in the featherweight division at the 1996 Olympics. Mayweather is a two-time winner of The Ring magazine's Fighter of the Year award (1998 and 2007), a three-time winner of the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) Fighter of the Year award (2007, 2013, and 2015), and a six-time winner of the Best Fighter ESPY Award (2007–2010, 2012–2014).

In 2016, Mayweather was ranked by ESPN as the greatest boxer, pound for pound, of the last 25 years. In the same year, he peaked as BoxRec's number one fighter of all time, pound for pound, as well as the greatest welterweight of all time. Many sporting news and boxing websites ranked Mayweather as the best boxer in the world, pound for pound, twice in a span of ten years; including The Ring, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, BoxRec, Fox Sports, and Yahoo! Sports. He is also regarded as the best defensive boxer in the sport,[13] as well as being the most accurate puncher since the existence of CompuBox, having the highest plus–minus ratio in recorded boxing history. He finished his career with a record of 26 wins without a loss or draw in world title fights (10 by KO); 23 wins (9 KOs) in lineal title fights; 24 wins (7 KOs) against former or current world titlists; 12 wins (3 KOs) against former or current lineal champions; and 2 wins (1 KO) against International Boxing Hall of Fame inductees.

In addition to his accomplishments in the ring, Mayweather is well known for being one of the most lucrative pay-per-view (PPV) attractions of all time, in any sport. He topped the Forbes and Sports Illustrated lists of the 50 highest-paid athletes of 2012 and 2013 respectively, and the Forbes list again in both 2014 and 2015, listing him as the highest paid athlete in the world. In 2007, he founded Mayweather Promotions, his own boxing promotional firm after defecting from Bob Arum's Top Rank. Mayweather has generated approximately 19.5 million in PPV buys and $1.3 billion in revenue throughout his career, surpassing the likes of former top PPV attractions including Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Oscar De La Hoya, and Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather-McGregor is a matchmakers dream. Two big egos with big followings; both trash-talking extraordinaires able to sell it to the public. A bout, which very possibly could end up being one-sided, may end up making more money than any boxing match in history. Everything depends on McGregor's jab. Theoretically, if he is able to use his good reach to establish a powerful jab while stalking Mayweather, then he may be able to do something when he can put him to the ropes. It seems logical that Mayweather will be able to land some serious counter punches against an inexperienced opponent.

14th April 1561: The Nuremberg Celestial Phenomenon

History Pod

http://www.historypod.net

On the morning of 14th April 1561, the people of Nuremberg in Germany witnessed a “dreadful apparition” in the sky.  Modern UFO enthusiasts have used the Nuremberg celestial phenomenon as evidence of extra-terrestrial life, although scientists have also put forward their explanation of why hundreds of people saw what they described as an aerial battle raging in front of the sun.

The spectacle was recorded by the artist Hans Glaser who lived in Nuremberg and so presumably witnessed the event himself.  He published a woodcut and text in a ‘broadsheet’ – a kind of newspaper that reveled in reporting strange or violent stories.  The woodcut shows cylindrical objects; multiple-coloured discs and globes, crosses, and even tubes that look like cannon barrels all moving in the sky.

There’s no way of knowing how accurate the woodcut is, or what caused the shapes in the sky, but recent science has pointed towards atmospheric phenomena.  UFO-skeptic Frank Johnson has written a convincing argument suggesting that the people of Nuremberg witnessed a parhelion, otherwise known as a sundog, caused by light refracting through clouds of ice crystals, along with other atmospheric tricks of the light including a low viewing angle of the sun.  Others suggest a city-wide outbreak of ergotism, where fungus growing on grain can cause hallucinations.

Whatever the cause, the celestial phenomenon terrified the people of Nuremberg who interpreted it as a warning from God.

It seems likely that whatever happened was beyond our understanding. Perhaps some battle in another dimension which briefly conflated with our world.

'All blue-eyed people can be traced back to one ancestor who lived 10,000 years ago near the Black Sea'

Michael Hanlon - Daily Mail (UK) - February 1, 2008

Throughout history they have been the eyes that are prized.

Frank Sinatra's were legendary, Paul Newman's melted a million hearts while Cameron Diaz's dazzle in modern Hollywood.

But how - and why - blue eyes arose has always been something of a genetic mystery. Until now.

According to a team of researchers from Copenhagen University, a single mutation which arose as recently as 6-10,000 years ago was responsible for all the blue-eyed people alive on Earth today.

The team, whose research is published in the journal Human Genetics, identified a single mutation in a gene called OCA2, which arose by chance somewhere around the northwest coasts of the Black Sea in one single individual, about 8,000 years ago.

Tracy Twyman is like the new Jordan Maxwell. A lot of occult researchers today, such as Michael Tsarion, were originally inspired by Maxwell. I don't just mean the metaphysical occult... but the social, political, economic, and religious occult as well.
