I can say for certain at at 17:28 is a perfect representation of the ancient Saturnian Caananite Priesthood. Purple was the color of their robes, because deep in the ancient past, the star Saturn emitted a dim purple haze upon the Earth from the northern sky. The Saturnian hexigram (known today as the Star of David) represents the north pole of Saturn (the all-seeing eye, not shown here, represents the south pole of Saturn). I believe that the current rulers have perverted the meanings of the divine masculine and the divine feminine, reflected by the two triangles of the hexagram. I don't know what film that footage was taken from, but the filmmaker(s) knew what they were portraying. I'm not even opposed to this tradition, only to our misleaders' perverse and incorrect interpratation of it.

When I'm grocery shopping, and I see S. Pellegrino mineral water from the very Alps of our ancestors, I always see Gerolsteiner mineral water. They're almost like twins, as this is the case at many different grocery markets. Gerolsteiner is located in a small town called Gerolstein, in a low level mountain range called the Eifel range. The town has some impressive Gothic architecture, as seen in a couple of photos in the Wiki link.

The Gerolsteiner symbol is at least partly taken from the coat of arms of Gerolstein, within a stylized eight pointed star.... similar to the German welcome star. This seems to have been the symbol for the company from the beginning, and it peaks my curiosity as it has a folk pagan vibe to it. Each of the points could represent the one of the seasonal sabbats of the wheel of the year. I've seen western Pennsylvania barn stars with that same style. San Pellegrino has the vehme star of five points, so the two further coalesce as a folk pagan set.

Asherah – Chief Goddess Of The Canaanite Pantheon

In Ugaritic mythology, this lost and forgotten deity is referred to as The Lady Asherah of The Sea. Several unearthed ancient clay tablets and writings from Ugarit, which was once an ancient port city in what is today called Ras Shamra, in northern Syria describe goddess Asherah as the wife of chief god El, the West Semitic counterpart of god Anu.

God El was the ruler of heaven and goddess Asherah had the sea as her domain. It is said that she had as many as 70 children and among them were important gods such as Baal, Anath, and Mot. There are also ancient references to one of her servants who was a fisherman named Qadesh was-Amrur. He used to bring her fish and help her saddle her donkey.

Although goddess Asherah was worshipped in many ancient cities, there is little information about her before the period of Ugaritic myths. Her history is complex and shrouded in mystery.

To the Hittites, this goddess appears as Asherdu(s) or Asertu(s), the consort of Elkunirsa ("El the Creator of Earth") and mother of either 77 or 88 sons.

In one Sumerian inscription set up in honor of Hammurabi, King of Babylon, about 1763 B.C., she is mentioned as Ashratum, the bride of Anu. Since the Sumerian and Akkadian god Anu most likely corresponds to the Canaanite god El, historians think that goddess Asherah held the position of the chief or mother goddess for at least three centuries prior to the Ugaritic period.

Nestled in the mountain slopes of northern Spain is a cave called Los Aprendices, which has been collecting bones and sediment for hundreds of thousands of years. A few years ago, scientists discovered the ancient skeleton of one of Europe's most famous Ice Age carnivores deep within this cavern: Crocuta spelaea, the cave hyena.

Remains of these extinct creatures can be found within hundreds of caves all across Europe, but most of these fossils are just bits and pieces – complete or even partial skeletons are extremely rare. But the skeleton discovered in Los Aprendices is an exception. More than 100 bones represent over half of the animal's whole body, making this the most complete cave hyena ever discovered on the Iberian Peninsula, and one of the most complete in all of Europe. Recently, these prized remains were examined by a group of Spanish researchers, offering up fresh clues about this ancient carnivore.

The fossils came from a single adult, around six to ten years of age, who seems to have died alone in the cave around 143,000 years ago. Today's hyenas are mostly restricted to Africa, but in the past, several species called Europe home as well, including the cave hyena – a close relative, and possibly a subspecies, of the modern-day spotted hyena.

Festival of Diana 2021: Rising from the Shadows

Festival of Diana - August 13-15

Also known as Nemoralia, Festival of Torches, and Hecatean Ides. In Stregheria it is known as the Festival of Diana. The Old Religion predates the Etruscans and Romans. Nemoralia no doubt comes from the fabled Lake Nemi. From very ancient times, Lake Nemi was known as Diana's Mirror, or Speculum Dianae to the Romans. The Goddess Diana (Diana Nemorensis: Diana of Nemi or Diana of the Wood) is deeply associated with the lake and surrounding woods. Near the temple of Diana was the sacred grove of Aricia.

A Rex Nemorensis was the name of the head of a Dianic preisthood at the temple. However this was during Roman times, and not of the time of the original Dianic tradition(s). The Temple of Diana at Lake Nemi was constructed near the north shore by the ancient Romans about 300 BCE, and was called the 'Temple of Diana Nemorensis'. Ancient Rome, just like the United States today, fostered various cults to occupy the minds of the common people. However, there is something far more spiritually essential about the pre-Roman and pre-Etruscan folkways. The ways of the mysterious Euganei; a Proto-European people of the Italian peninsula. Probably even more mysterious than the Etruscans.

1st century BCE Roman poet Ovid described the celebration:

"In the Arrician valley,
there is a lake surrounded by shady forests,
Held sacred by a religion from the olden times...
On a long fence hang many pieces of woven thread,
and many tablets are placed there
as grateful gifts to the Goddess.
Often does a woman whose prayers Diana answered,
With a wreath of flowers crowning her head,
Walk from Rome carrying a burning torch...
There a stream flows down gurgling from its rocky bed..."

1st century CE Roman poet Propertius observed the festival, apparently from a distance, and wrote to his beloved:

"Ah, if you would only walk here in your leisure hours.
But we cannot meet today,
When I see you hurrying in excitement with a burning torch

Bear light in honour of the Goddess Diana."

On this day, worshipers formed a procession of torches and candles around the waters of Lake Nemi (the name Nemi, from the Latin nemus, means a sacred wood or sacred grove), also known as Diana's Mirror. Hundreds join together at the lake, wearing wreaths of flowers. According to Plutarch, part of the ritual (before the procession around the lake) was the washing of hair and dressing it with flowers.

It is a day of rest for women and slaves. Hounds are also honored and dressed with blossoms. Travelers between the north and south banks of the lake were carried in small boats lit by lanterns. Similar lamps were used by Vestal virgins and have been found with images of the goddess at Nemi.

Requests and offerings to Diana may include small baked clay or bread statuettes of body parts in need of healing; small clay images of mother and child; tiny sculptures of stags; dance and song; and fruit such as apples. In addition, offerings of garlic are made to the Goddess of the Dark Moon, Hecate, during the festival[citation needed]. Hunting or killing of any beast is forbidden on Nemoralia.

The pre-Etruscan/Roman Dianic cult

I suppose that it could be an area of debate within practitioners of Stregheria as to how much latter influence should be adhered to. In truth, we really don't know a lot about the Euganei or their ancient spiritual traditions. What we do know is that during the last glacial movement, ending about 9,000 years ago, about two-thirds of Europe was covered by a mile high sheet of ice. A clearly related Proto-European lunar Goddess tradition essentially stretched from Wales to Portugal to Greece and to Bavaria. The name of the Goddess was different from region to region (Diana, Hecate, Mona, etc), and other names of the finite aspects of this tradition were different, but overall it was all closely related. Remember this was basically "a little Europe" at the time. A very similar primal people existed throughout at that time, prior to the latter incoming movements of Teutons or Mediterraneans.

The Etruscans had a mysterious culture, and brought with them their own pantheon of gods and spiritual folkways which merged with the natives. Then the Romans took over and started anew; erasing much of what had been Etruscan culture, architecture, spirituality, history, etc. They had their own, often conflated, pantheon of gods and spiritual folkways. I think it was all more planned and calculated by the Romans, while the Etruscan culture likely merged with the local native folkways in a much more organic manner. So for a modern Stregheria movement... which aspects of all this do we adhere to? While in ancient Greece, the Olympian gods seem to have been separate from the more ancient Hecate cult; in ancient Italy the whole thing was more convoluted.

While it would be exciting to explore the pantheon of Etruscan gods, there does become a confusion... especially since the latter manifestations of the Old Religion which have existed in the periphery over the centuries have their own local folkways. To a large extent, what we might call Stregheria today is a confusion of time periods and regional influences as they survived in spiritual exile from the mainstream society. In the Gaulish north, not surprisingly there is Gaulish and ancient German influences, even Slavic influences. The Goddess was called Mona, the same as in Gaul proper and other ancient northern European locales. The story of the 'Witches of Benevento' is a good example of one of the many migrating peoples on the peninsula whom had an influence on the pre-existing pagan traditions... in this case, the south-migrating Langobards.

Over the centuries there were numerous, more often small, migrations of other peoples into the peninsula. Other Europeans, and even non-Europeans in the south, either invaded to migrated and had some affect on the culture and traditions. Overall, these spiritual influences--if there were any--were probably small. One thing which is not helpful, for example, is when Raven Grimassi was attacked by some for a perception that he was speaking for all who practice Stregheria. Also, some even deny Stregheria itself, insisting that it should all be about Benecaria or something else. I think that we should approach this in the following manner:

1) Acknowledge that, although there was much in common throughout the various provinces and villages of Italy, there's enough difference that there will never be full agreement on any finite codex.

2) Create levels of commonality. A chronological system where we can agree on some things, and also allow for a lot of spiritual diversity.... both individually and by small groups.

3) Proto-European witchcraft: Always acknowledge the "very ancients" from the last ice age. These were they're ways, and we're their descendants.

4) Euganei: It is essential to acknowledge that this was the primal population of Italy at one point, and they are all of our ancestors. This is the link that ties us all together, and the most important step! If we can't at least do this, then we're truly just wasting our time as far as a greater revival. We must keep this area of study and practice, pure; at least academically, and in a unifying manner. Creating a nucleus of folk-spiritual sameness of which we can all agree one.

5) Acknowledge the main contributors to latter traditions: Etruscans, Gauls, and Romans.

6) Acknowledge influences from the Middle Ages.

7) Acknowledge post-Medieval influences.

8) Allow those who are not interested in the very ancient folkways--the Euganei--to go their own way. This isn't to say that, for example, cryptic-traditions within the Church are not a big part of our history. They certainly are, but the essential basis of Stregheria must be of these ancient ancestors. I would also think the folklore of Aradia as well. If someone can't handle that, then we go our separate spiritual ways. Also, of course, there are other influences: Masonic, Hemetic, Eastern, Astrology, etc. However, at the primal heart must always be the ancient folkways! Beyond that, there can be all sorts of individually-inspired, small group, or regional flavors. Italian-Americans in New England might adopt something from earlier English pagans, or Italian-Argentines might adopt something from Basque pagans. The common American "welcome star" comes directly from Dutch/German pagan tradition. Italian-Americans in Pennsylvania might adopt that symbol to an extent. Personally, I place a little hand-made wooden red solar cross up along the trails where I usually walk, conduct ritual, alone or with others. When the early Christians were eliminating Odinic tradition from German-speaking areas, Hungary and elsewhere, the pagans would replace their old altars in the woods with a red cross to mask their holy altars in hopes that they could return to them at a later point. Of course, it never happened. So I use that same concept, using a red solar cross instead; in this case as a type of altar in of itself. There seems to be another pagan coven of some type whom places little hand-weaved hearts in the area; and I also see rocks stacked or little stone labyrinths. Meaningful things like this are fine on the surface, and don't replace the primal Stregheria which we would need to agree upon.

Having passed away in 2019, Raven Grimassi left us too soon. I strongly feel, despite the trail that he blazed, that there was still work to be done. I suppose that we would all feel that way when someone important to us passes... if there only was more time. We still must finally iron out a foundation as far as creating an "Aradianist Folk Revival." Basically agree on the essentials, and agree-to-disagree on the less important things.

Summer Solstice 2021 - Elysium & Blood Red Supermoon!

Elysium or the Elysian Fields is a conception of the afterlife that developed over time and was maintained by some Greek religious and philosophical sects and cults. Initially separate from the realm of Hades, admission was reserved for mortals related to the gods and other heroes. Later, it expanded to include those chosen by the gods, the righteous, and the heroic, where they would remain after death, to live a blessed and happy life, and indulging in whatever employment they had enjoyed in life.

The Elysian Fields were, according to Homer, located on the western edge of the Earth by the stream of Okeanos. In the time of the Greek poet Hesiod, Elysium would also be known as the "Fortunate Isles", or the "Isles (or Islands) of the Blessed", located in the western ocean at the end of the earth. The Isles of the Blessed would be reduced to a single island by the Theban poet Pindar, describing it as having shady parks, with residents indulging in athletic and musical pastimes.

The ruler of Elysium varies from author to author: Pindar and Hesiod name Cronus as the ruler,[9] while the poet Homer in the Odyssey describes fair-haired Rhadamanthus dwelling there. "The Isle of the Blessed" is also featured in the 2nd Century comedic novel "True Story" by Lucian of Samosata.

'Gladiator' & 'The Last Samurai'

Recently on the Paramount channel I believe, on a few evenings there was a double-feature of these two films. One of the things that occurred to me about 'Gladiator'--a film with so many profound quotes--was the demoting of Maximus from a general who issued epic quotes such as "Strength and Honor" and "Brothers, what we do in life, echoes in eternity" in support of what he believed in: The Roman Empire.... to a slave forced to fight and risk death or maiming for the mere entertainment of others; Maximus after throwing the sword at the elites in the luxury box: "Are you not entertained!?"

Proximo's somewhat less-than-awe-inspiring quote to rally his gladiators during training put an exclamation point on that demotion: "Ultimately, we're all dead men. Sadly, we cannot choose how but, what we can decide is how we meet that end, in order that we are remembered, as men." Maximus' later quote in Rome's Colosseum was almost like a belated response to Proximo. Maximus: "Marcus Aurelius had a dream that was Rome, Proximo. This is not it! This is not it!" Just like the Samurai, Maximus was not afraid of death nearly as much as dishonor. The heroic ethic is long gone from this world, replaced by capitalism, communism, materialism, attention seeking, pleasure seeking, greed, self-worship, self-interest, rootless universalism, and baseless overt sex and violence.

There are four springfests coming straight out of the ancient pagan world: Imbolc (February 1), Lupercalia (February 15), Ostara (March 19-23), and Beltane (May 1). Imbolc was the start of spring to the ancient Gaels. I suspect that after being snowed in for several months, it was more in anticipation of the coming warm weather. Roman Lupercalia was originally more pastoral, based on the approaching spring weather allowing for livestock to graze. Ostara was the start of spring to the Teutons. Beltane was the actual start of warm weather in more of practical way of looking at it.

DVDs outdated!!?

As you've may have noticed, DVDs of full seasons of television programs are often simply no longer available. It doesn't seem very long ago that so many people were in love with the idea that if they couldn't get to see their favorite programs, that they could just purchase the whole season and either binge watch them or just watch at their own leisure. There were many who preferred to wait and just buy the DVD at the end of the season. Well, many sources have announced that with streaming services available online, DVDs are an outdated media. Part of the idea is that the cost to prepare all of these programs for distribution doesn't not match the projected sales anymore.

This still doesn't seem like a satisfactory answer to me! Are people so shallow what they can no longer distinguish between the latest streaming fad to programs that they would like to own? Why do they see some streaming service as their own electric library? What if someone doesn't want to watch movies online? I guess I just can't quite grasp as to why they don't have specific movies and programs they wish to own? I get the music thing, but books are the same thing. It seems impractical to me to require some electronic reader to read a book; yet another device that must be charged, instead of just pulling a book off the shelf for reference.

I know that if someone wanted to purchase the entire collection of say 'Bonanza', that it would be available. However, the half dozen or so tv series that I wish to own are not available. A couple of them aren't even available on Amazon Prime; although I suspect that they would be available on the new Discovery Plus streaming service. Why I want to save just these very few tv series is my own business! I just want to own them. I have also read that as time has gone on, the producers are more and more reluctant to release tv series because they can easily be copied, and they want to horde the product for themselves... to maximize the profit. I don't see why Amazon, Discovery, or Netflix can't just make films and tv programs available to burn onto CDs.... and just charge extra for the service? They could overcharge and make a mint! Each party could get what they want.

Sure, there’s plenty of countryside to admire in Poland’s Bieszczady National Park, and because the place is rather remote, the animals are abundant. Aside from the iconic Eurasian lynx, bears, grey wolves, and wild boars flourish here. The mysterious world of root systems

Root systems--from all types of trees, bushes, shrubs, plants, grass, etc--are far more complex than had previously been known. In the same manner in which a tree branches into the air, it also branches into the soil. All of these root systems mingle, merge, and become tangled in the world that we cannot see. For example, wines which are produced from vines planted nearby eucalyptus trees take on a "eucalyptus taste." Why would that be? All of the different roots, great and small, absorb water and nutrients from the soil. It's possible and probably likely then that the minerals and nutrients from decomposed eucalyptus leaves, through absorption, passes that taste through the vines and to the grapes.

However, it's becoming established now that there is much more to this subject. All of the various trees, shrubs, plants, etc.... actually cooperate and help each other! For example when one plant life-form is in need of a particular nutrient or mineral, it communicates this need through a chemical process, and one of the other plant like-forms tied together within it's root system will actually pass it onto them. I know, it's hard to believe, but it's true. Often it's the larger plant life-forms which cater to the smaller ones in this manner, and this system revolves around the trees. The trees are the gentle giants around which this process works. It's like a loving community of selfless lifeforms, always providing for each others needs if they can.

The Green Moon

Sometimes under a clear night sky with a prominent moon, especially a full or almost full moon during the warm weather of a still night, the moonlight appears in a light golden color as it illuminates the landscape. Through the imagination, and there could be a scientific basis for it, it can appear as an almost light bluish light.

During the past several evening hiking, I did observe that the moonlight actually appeared in a greenish hue. This was due to the very green foliage of spring. This illusion of green light still seemed magickal to me amid the stillness; the moon lovingly shining light upon the new spring life.

I tend to believe that moonlight itself is healthy for you. The sunlight reflecting off the moon represents the energy from an intermingling of male and female spiritual energy. I think through this reflected light, the moon passes down the gentleness of the divine feminine to the life on earth. Even if we just look at this within the confines of modern science, in the same manner that a house plant can absorb and shift its leaves toward indirect sunlight, plants are indeed absorbing some nutrients from the moonlight... even if it's perhaps just 15% of what indirect sunlight can provide it during the daylight hours. Of course, this would be only if the conditions were available (clear sky, prominent moon above, etc). However, I think there is much more to this.

More than mere moonlight, a prominent or full moon deeply affects the magnetic pull of the earth; for example the tides, or even how it affects our bodies. Although it does not have the brightness of the divine masculine energy of the sun, it more than makes up for it in other ways. It affects menstrual cycles, now proven by mainstream science. It affects our chakras, our blood, our brains, body functions, our energy, our emotions, etc. This is all separate from the moonlight itself; still I think our health can also benefit by absorbing the moonlight.... including spiritual and mental health.
