An Asatru prayer which appears very applicable to the old religion

I found this morning prayer on an Asatru update posting. I thought that it could just as easily fit the pantheon of "the old religion".. or similar traditions. Steve McNallen altered the original slightly, and I think I could do the same.. but maybe at another time.

Based on the Eddic poem 'Sigrdrifumal'; the words of the Valkyrie Brynhild:

Hail to the day! Hail to the sons of day!
Hail to night and its daughter!
Gaze gently on me standing here;
Give your blessings on my battles!

Hail to the Gods! Hail to the Goddesses!
Hail to the all-giving Earth!
Wisdom and lore grant me, as long as I live,
And healing hands.
