The Roman Ritual, the dark side of life, & the redemption of spirit

During this challenging time in my life, being largely busy during the days, I find myself walking for about an hour and 20 minutes in an old industrial park at night. Sometimes it's late, and beyond the lights along those very wide outer streets, I can see the absolute blackness of the mountains and sky... probably appearing more so due to the mild glare of these lights on my eyes. These street lamps are maybe about thirty yards apart, but illuminate the streets fairly well. If they suddenly shut off, the area would be in near blackness with just a few lights emanating from the mostly very old one-story industrial structures; constructed from a time when materials would be brought in by train, as up until about fifteen years ago there were train tracks zig-zagging through the area. There's still the old tunnel which connected the these tracks to the rail line which is still over there and operational. Somehow these streets have a dated look to them, despite being well-maintained. However, there's a certain ominous look to that outer blackness from my current perspective.

Probably due to certain health problems in recent years, my mother has unexpectedly been befallen by something called 'rapidly progressive dementia'. Two months ago during a small heat wave here, she was sipping on a little glass of Lamarca wine on her deck along the hillside behind her home. She was fine at that point. In just weeks, she regressed mentally, and I kept thinking it was temporary. The condition moved so quickly that she was unable to take care of herself, and she just kept regressing, to the point of not always remembering me. It took about seven weeks from her sitting in the sun contently, and talking on that deck, to being taken to a assisted living facility. Yes, that quickly!

Strictly by chance, while walking those streets and listening to YouTube audio on my iPod, I have listened to just whatever the order of programs I downloaded onto it. There are 85 of them I racall; some long and some short. The past couple of weeks I was listening to many hours of old episodes of the 'Opie & Anthony' radio program, most of them with Joe Rogan. As I walked along the empty streets, although there is always at least some activity going on, I didn't think of them as ten or fifteen years old programs, but I somehow imagined them as current. I visualized the traffic or work days in NYC, Chicago, LA, or anywhere else where the popular radio program was aired, as I listened to the wild humorous conversations, filled with unexpected dialogue and opinions. It helped me get my mind off of things, and I even laughed some.

However, again strictly by the chance of how these programs were ordered, I began listening to the audiobook of the 1971 novel 'The Exorcist' by the late author William Peter Blatty, a Maronite Catholic from NYC. The book is very similar to the film, except it goes deeply into the internal psychological struggle of the protagonist Damien Karras, a young Greek-American Jesuit Priest. Despite being extremely open-minded and considering all remotely rational explanations, he struggled to comprehend the evil he was involved in. I don't even know exactly how far into the book I am now, but the early heated confrontations between the very learned Jesuit Priest and the ancient Sumerian demon Pazuzu have already occurred. Must of the book has revolved around the progression of the deep psychological struggle of the main protagonist.

The novel would be a bit tedious if not for me having such brisk and long walks trying to get my mind of off things. In this instance, it's actually relaxing for the most part. Still however, the ominous nature of the peril which has befallen my mother, and the ominous darkness of the terrain there (under the circumstances), makes the experience somewhat eerie as well. The streets being so empty and dark at that time--outside of an occasional truck, car, or loud noise from one of the distant loading docks--I sometimes see something dark move, or a light flash, that's mostly just a trick of light and shadow as I move along the streets. I do sometimes see a coyote or raccoon moving in the distance. In my current state of mind however, listening to the malignant Pazuzu speak--both deeply intellectually and with great malice--while walking in that location, is a legitimate reason to border on certain hallucinations. For the most part, the novel is relaxing, but this is not an experience that I would have expected or planned.

If there is any conflation between the novel and my mother's current misfortune, it's with me only. I mean, I could attach metaphors to it, I just choose not to except for the character of myself perhaps. So one could say that there's an eerie parallel in that way. Of course, the pandemic adds yet another ominous dimension to the current state of things here. Yesterday at 10:45 AM I arrived at the entrance of the barely par care facility, which officially opens at 11 AM. Usually there's a certain protocol for just entering, however the glass door was just wide open as the weather was probably close to 70 degrees at that point. I just walked in and made my way to her second story room. Being that the structure was once a sanitarium, the path up or down are not stairways but long ramps. It was very quiet, with only an occasional sound of activity.

As I got to the room, the door was open wide, my mother was on the bed, undressed on her stomach, half asleep, and largely unresponsive. Maybe she was to be bathed soon, I don't know. There were random visitors in the hallways as she just lay there with the door open. Even beyond that, some of the care workers are male, and they probably wouldn't even understand her if she could speak. That she would be in this situation, I know to her, would have been unfathomable only a short time ago. However, her body may be alive, but she's basically gone now, cared for by strangers who never knew her. A victim of a sudden horrific condition. Gone is any real communication, thought, or interests, and certainly none of the good energy and sense of humor that I remember so well; just a shell of her former self. Mentally, at least she isn't aware of her degradation as a person. At one point she looked up at me, and as her blue eyes focused slightly, I wanted to believe that she recognized me. She did speak to me on the previous visit a little, holding my hand, and asking if I would be back to visit her... and waving goodbye. That may have been, for all practical reasoning, her final goodbye.

As I listened to the audiobook yesterday evening, mentioned somewhat prominently was a text entitled 'The Roman Ritual', a very old writing which over the centuries has had many volumes added to it. "The Roman Ritual (Latin: Rituale Romanum) is one of the official ritual works of the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church. It contains all of the services which may be performed by a priest or deacon which are not contained within either the 'Missale Romanum' or the 'Breviarium Romanum'. The book also contains some of the rites which are contained in only one of these books for convenience." Apparently unusual rites such as exorcisms are only a part of these volumes. Curiously, the Milanese Rite of our culture from Lombardia has a similar ritual. The Ambrosian Rite has its own ritual (Rituale Ambrosianum, published by Giacomo Agnelli at the Archiepiscopal Press, Milan). Again, any parallels between our situation here and lets just say the audiobook is just with me and my own mental state; however, this is indeed my own real life horror. I suppose her death would be easier to accept.

I noticed last night a "Moon-Mars-Venus trifecta" in the sky. The moon had the slight appearance of a half-moon at about 75% fullness. Close over to its left side was Venus, and up aways over to it's right side was Mars... from my perspective. Perhaps the Moon was my mother, Venus was my late sister Katherine, and I was Mars; as the Moon and Venus were so close together in the sky. When my mother finally passes away in body, she will be reborn again in spirit, such as when she was the little girl with red-brown hair walking though the horse pastures back in Gogebic County. Her name, Janet, originates from "Little Joan" (also Jane or Jeanne) in Scottish, with the Italian equivalent being Gianetta... meaning "God is Gracious." There is always a plan..

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain." -- Rev 21:4

Afterlife Communication
A lecture by Matt McKay, Ph.D.
Presented by the Foundation for Mind Being-Research
WWW.FMBR.ORG

Eight years ago (2008) in San Francisco, Jordan McKay was murdered riding home from work on his bicycle. He was 23 years old. Jordan's father, Dr. Matthew McKay, was determined to make contact after his death. He sought reconnection through mediums, shamanistic rituals, meditation, past life and between lives regressions, as well as techniques such as "Induced After Death Communication" and channeled writing. Eventually, Dr. McKay found channeled writing to be the most effective and reliable way to converse with Jordan. He took these conversations and put them in a book "Seeking Jordan".

Dr. McKay's presentation will begin with the story of how he established contact with Jordan after death and some of the important things Jordan has to say. He leads participants through an experiential exercise doing actual channeled writing. During his talk he cover such subjects as:

* Why we reincarnate and the purpose of life.

* The role of psychological and physical pain in soul development.

* The relationship between individual souls and collective consciousness

* The transition between life and afterlife.

* What souls do in the spirit world.

* How our lives change when we know where home is.

* The nature of Karma (and irrelevance of ideas like sin, punishment, good and evil).

Speaker's Bio:

Matthew McKay is a clinical psychologist and professor at The Wright Institute in Berkeley. He is the director of the Berkeley Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinic, and co-director of the Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinic. Dr. McKay is the co-author of more than 30 books on psychology – both professional and self-help titles. His books have sold more than 3 million copies. His books on spirituality include “Why?,” “Your Life on Purpose,” and “Seeking Jordan.” In his spiritual work, Dr. McKay specializes in teaching channeled writing and doing past life and between-lives regressions. Dr. McKay is also co-founder and publisher of New Harbinger Publications, a major Bay Area publishing house.

'Seeking Jordan: How I Learned the Truth about Death and the Invisible Universe' (Hardcover; Matthew McKay Ph.D.; 2016)

Matthew McKay has been covered here before. I believe that his actual "purpose"--being a Psychologist, and having these experiences--was to interpret what he learned for those of us "who wish to know." As far as I can tell, he has absolutely nailed this subject like perhaps no one has in modern history. The message that we are here to suffer to learn lessons can be a downer; with the upside being that goodbyes are not permanent.

The Melissa Galka case is another one to search out. Through devices, she answers questions with relevant answers in her own voice in life. Phrases like "beyond the grave" only reflects an entirely material view of consciousness. Her spirit is present, until she decides to move on. Melissa Galka and Jordan McKay are not "ghosts," but free spirits... free to come and go. They're not "dead" in the way that we would interpret it.

Ghost programs and the metaphysical issue: Part 20 - "Tibetan Book of the Dead"

Full Documentary HD - Secret Book of DEATH

TOP SECRET

The Tibetan Books of the Dead are a diverse collection of Buddhist scriptures that yield valuable insight into the psychology of death and dying and suggest the importance of meditative practice and knowledge as tools for self-understanding. This in-depth study of this rich body of Buddhist literature details the Tibetan Buddhist belief in the bardos, of intermediate states, and serves as an illuminating companion volume to The Tibetan Book of the Dead. Using original texts from both the Buddhist and pre-Buddhist Tibetan religious traditions, this book presents a detailed portrayal of the teachings and the iconography that play a major role in the Tibetan understanding of death and dying. The peaceful and wrathful deities, the mandala principle, the five Buddha families, and the six realms of experience are among the doctrines examined in this volume. A psychological commentary and the illustrations and diagrams in the book illuminate the Tibetan path from death, through the after-death state, to transformation and rebirth. A comparison with Western investigations of consciousness, death, and dying, as well as views of death in India, Egypt, and other ancient cultures, enables the reader to see how the Tibetan Buddhist perspective on death relates to the spiritual and psychological beliefs of other societies.

The Bhavacakra and the Sun Cross

In the same manner that there is a "Tibetan triskelion"---of which I believe there is an ancient link---there is also a similarity between the Tibetan Bhavacakra and the Sun Cross from a number of ancient European traditions. I would guess that there is not necessarily an ancient connection here since the Bhavacakra represents the cycle of life, while the Sun Cross represents the wheel of the year. Of course, the concept of the cycle of life could easily conflate with the cycle of the seasons. The Bhavacakra, as far as I can see, is only represented with eight points when in the form of a particular ornamental design set on top of a structure or high on a mountain. Although I wasn't able to find an example, this symbol appears particularly powerful amid dark clouds in the high mountains... at which time it appears dark grey.

Ghost programs and the metaphysical issue: Part 18

How the afterlife, spirit energy, and the universe(s) work

Fascinating interview from this past Tuesday with Matthew McKay whose communications with the spirit of his murdered son have unveiled actual details about these subjects. Apparently the book goes into great detail. I'm like a lot of people who dismiss a lot of what I hear on Coast to Coast AM, but I think someone may actually have finally nailed it this time! The interview can be heard on the first hour and fifteen minutes of the above video. Also noteworthy is the website ListenToYouTube.com, which converts YouTube videos into audio mp3's for an iPod. After you have finally saved the file, you then need to allow the entire mp3 to download, which you should be able to monitor on the Firefox icon on the bottom of the screen.

Other Side Communications/ Midweek Open Lines

Date: Tuesday - May 24, 2016
Host: George Noory
Guests: Matthew McKay, Open Lines

In the first half, clinical psychologist and a professor at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, Matthew McKay who co-founded Haight Ashbury Psychological Services in San Francisco in 1979 and served as its clinical director for twenty-five years discussed how the murder of his son, Jordan, sent him on a journey in search of ways to communicate with him. He recounted his efforts -- including past-life and between-lives hypnotic regressions, induced after-death communication, channeled writing, and more, and how this led to extraordinary revelations -- direct from Jordan -- about the soul’s life after death, and its future development.

In 2008, Jordan was riding his bike in San Francisco when he was accosted by 4 men who attacked and killed him. Devastated and seeking some sort of closure, McKay sought out ways to try and contact his deceased son. He tried many methods, but had some success with eye movement therapy, when he says he actually heard his son's voice telling him "he was still around and he was still watching over us." Eventually, he developed a method of channeling his departed son and began asking questions about the afterlife and reincarnation. Eventually, Jordan laid out a plan to write a book channeled through his father.

As of four years ago, McKay said that Jordan told him he had reincarnated as a girl, but McKay does not know if he will ever meet her. He says that a group called the "guides" will have to decide "whether that is useful to her." When asked why we have to reincarnate, Jordan replied that people needed to experience pain and difficulty to help souls to develop and grow. He said his own life was planned to be short by design. As for an overall message from Jordan. McKay said that we are "not alone. We have no loss. Love is the bridge and conduit with which we can connect."

------------------------------------------------

During Open Lines, Robin called from New York to talk about her mother's experience with channeling good and bad entities and how they seemed to emanate actual smells associated with their intentions. George wondered if he could get actors Leonardo De Caprio and Tom Hanks to be on the show, and Scott from Tulsa claimed that groups of people were paid to radicalize protests at political rallies, such as the one in Albuquerque that turned violent just before tonight's program went on the air. CJ from Oregon expressed his opinion that people in the United States are now "voting for dictators," and that there has been a breakdown of the system of checks and balances that were built into the Constitution.

Coast to Coast AM interview with Kim Russo from this past Monday

The interview begins at about the one hour fifteen minute point, and I set it on the right spot. This videos probably won't last because of the copyright, and this channels promotion of "Coast to Coast." The YT user "Conflict" always has the latest programs, and I'll re-link at least the top program since it's so important. Some mainstream institute of science recently tested nineteen spirit mediums, including Kim Russo, with a series of month long tests to examine their accuracy... and the results were conclusive as far as they were concerned. The name of that institute in in the interview if you wanted to write it down later.

Magic of Compassion/ Spirit Communications

Date: Monday - May 23, 2016
Host: George Noory
Guests: Dr. James Doty, Kim Russo

In the latter half, Kim Russo, known as 'The Happy Medium,' the star of Lifetime Movie Network's Psychic Intervention and The Haunting Of... shared how she came to embrace her gift of mediumship, and ultimately accepted her soul's mission as a voice for the spirit world. As a child she began to see curious spirit figures at the foot of her bed, dressed in clothes from a previous era. At first, the spirits were silent, and communication was hindered by her religious upbringing, she remarked. Over the years, through trial and error, she learned how to communicate with spirits and spirit guides, and was able to extensively talk with her husband's spirit guide, initially when she conducted a past life regression with him.

Russo was one of 19 mediums scientifically tested by the Windbridge Institute, who concluded that she was able to tune into a different frequency and bring back accurate information about the deceased that she would have no way of knowing. She cautioned that the Ouija board and recording of EVPs tend to draw in low level entities that might seek to attach themselves to the living. Describing the afterlife, she said that the essence of a person's energy becomes free and travels to its original home in another dimension. When trying to contact a departed loved one, she advised not to request that they take the form of an apparition as this is very difficult for them. Rather, request a sign such as something electronic or a number, as the spirits can more handily manipulate the environment, she noted.

Huff Paranormal

This is a YouTube channel which researches the paranormal, usually disembodied voices. He's been on the weekend Coast program. They just posted one a few days ago with "Johnny Cash" that was amazing, whether or not you actually believe that it was him or not. Commenters were very moved. It may be one to take a look at. There are many interesting and unique videos there that may sound sort've really out-there by the description, but they do get voices.. usually more than one.

Destination America channel

I'm currently getting the next DirecTV upgrade channels for a few days, which includes what I call the original paranormal cable program 'A Haunting' which I haven't watched in a couple of seasons. I'll have to purchase them. This channel has numerous other such programs, such as 'Paranormal Lockdown' with Katrina Weidman who had been part of one of the forerunner programs of this type.. 'Paranormal State'.

Ghosts on YouTube

I have watched numerous videos of very clear spirit bodies with detail, walking out of elevators or across lobbies. There's one video from a surveillance camera of a black mass in the shape of a body which appears before some young guy and knocks him down and begins to drag him until he gets up and runs away. These are easy to find on YT and I never made any attempt to seek out the best ones for posting here. A smaller percentage of them are very convincing. There are also several videos from surveillance of angels or super beings which are convincing. I'll just post one below that truly defies explanation. It can only be described as some type of super being who saves a man on bicycle from certain death from on oncoming truck.. all captured on CCTV in China. Then he just walks away. This is how the Archangel Michael is supposed to be able to operate. This might be one to go full screen.

There are interviews of personalities from reality tv like Zak Bagans, Amy Allan, and Steve DiSchiavi. There are also many "ghost stories" that are narrated. Actually, I find just unusual narrated stories of any type to be interesting, which reminds one of the old mystery radio programs. I can recall listening to a few of them when I was a kid while my family was driving up to Lake County, California for the weekend. There are other paranormal narrations other than ghosts, often speaking in the first person. This type of narration can really keep your attention in a manner that a video documentary can't. I don't cover the broad paranormal here, but the metaphysical world really overlaps with spiritual tradition.

ANGEL SUPERHUMAN Teleportation caught on CCTV in China?

The Observer

Superhuman person or alien saves a man on a motorbike from complete destruction by teleporting him a few meters away in less than a second, and then flees the scene as quickly as possible. A few observations from the footage:

The truck driver swerves to his left at the last second slightly and leaves dark skid marks behind.

The spot the motorbike man is teleported from, there is a dark round imprint left on the road and the same around the new position which both gradually fade away after a few seconds (while the skid marks remain). The truck driver can be observed looking at the dark ring closest to him in confusion, as it fades away (he looks right at this spot). Also, he doesn't know whether to go and apologise to the motorbike man because he isn't sure if it's who he thought he was about to run over, so he wanders around dazed (most likely questioning his own sanity).

The superhuman person (teleporter/jumper) seems to have rather large hands which appear unusually bright white (unless wearing gloves) and is quick to put them in pockets while fleeing the scene. Why flee the scene so quickly? The superhuman could be afraid of being different / rejection from society and so does not want recognition for the heroic act. Or perhaps the hoody is hiding a distinct alien appearance.

The motorbike man sits on the kerb totally bewildered (in shock) trying to figure out where he went and how he survived and ended up safely behind the truck with a random person in a hoody by his side.

The superhuman person likely does not say a word to either of the men, and does not want to acknowledge the intervention at all.

The mysterious hooded figure leaves the scene in a similar direction to whence it came when first bursting on to the scene, which is consistent.

These are just some thoughts I thought I'd throw out there! Enjoy the video!

The dark side of ghosts

Part of the purpose of this series is to come to some conclusions about the metaphysical, the spirit and energy world, and the afterlife. The Matthew and Jordan McKay experience is a big step, and I will probably review the entire book at some point, so I skipped those important particulars. The below video is a full episode (which won't last long on YT due to the copyright) of Syfy's 'Paranormal Witness' entitled 'Poppy's Revenge'.

Unfortunately this episode seems to suggest that a spirit from even a close relative can go full-on evil, for no apparent reason. This may be part of the equation of the afterlife; that it's not necessarily any more "fair" than our world. It's been awhile since I watched this, but I suspect that this must be a ghost-spirit that hasn't crossed over yet; and this earthbound limbo state may actually be a type of... or even The "Hell."

Therefore if the person was mentally impaired late in their life, then they will be mentally impaired in this limbo state. They can grow in power, be angry or jealous of the living, and hurt them. Fortunately I believe that we have protective spirits. I think after spirits cross over and complete the current life process, they then become the best of what they are in spirit. 'Paranormal Witness' is a good program that will air later this year.

Our pets: Reunited with lost friends in the Summerlands

Just the other side of death's curtain are the Summerlands. All the pets who have died go through this curtain and though they can still watch us, we can't see them. Sometimes the curtain is thin in places and we catch a glimpse of our lost companion waiting on the other side. Sometimes the curtain twitches as they look through at us and we can feel them or feel a sudden draft as the curtain falls back into place.

The Summerlands exist in the long, lazy late afternoons of an eternal golden summer of remembered childhood; the time when everything seems most alive and sweetest smelling. Our animals are young again and turned to perfect health. There is always space and time to play and love, places to be with others and places to be alone together.

When our time comes, the curtain is lifted from our eyes and we can see the Summerlands ourselves. Waiting there for us are the animals and people we loved in life and we can see them clearly at last. The has come for us to move away from the curtain and renew these interrupted friendships. Sometimes we can't help but take a peek through the curtain just to see how our own loved ones are doing before they come to join us.

Ghost programs and the metaphysical issue: Part 9

Although I didn't feel the need to mention every paranormal-themed program, I wanted to mention a few more here. One program on the Syfy network is called 'Paranormal Witness'. It is produced in the same documentary-narrative style as 'A Haunting', and it's quite good. I didn't see season one in 2011, but I did see season two. Season three is scheduled for later this year with twenty episodes. Some people find it easier to just purchase the DVDs.

One other program, also on the Syfy channel, is called 'School Spirits'. It's a school-themed program that's also good. Without making lists, I would loosely say that 'A Haunting' was the best of this program genre, with 'Paranormal Witness', 'The Haunted', and 'School Spirits' being the next three. All four are still active, and produced in the docu-narrative style. 'The Dead Files' (active; new season starts tonight) 'Paranormal State' (ended) and 'Ghost Adventures' (active), are more "investigative." 'A Haunting' and 'Paranormal State' were something like "the pioneers" of paranormal television.

It should be mentioned that 'In Search of' from the late 70/early 80s was a somewhat similar program and deserves mention. It's always helpful to have a great narrator like Leonard Nimoy. 'In Search of' really holds up today. I think part of the appeal of these types of programs, and many metaphysically-themed horror movies, is that they free up this "spirit world" which is part of our genetic memory. Often, people with "dismissive personalities" regarding anything they don't understand--and don't wish to understand--are actually afraid to know or experience anything new. Also, most often, those with strong religious dogma dismiss these ideas based on their social conditioning which is something a little bit different than the fear-based attitudes.

'Celebrity Ghost Stories' is another one which was pretty good. I'm not much of a fan of "celebrities," but I'm not going to omit it or say that it's not good. I think many of the early accounts were sincere, but a lot of the phonies looking for attention will be getting into the act now. YouTube carries a lot of these and other programs. It still amazes me the variety of things uploaded onto YouTube.

Paranormal television (Wikipedia)

Paranormal television is a genre of popular reality television programming. Its scope comprises purportedly factual investigations of paranormal phenomena, rather than fictional representations found in such shows as The Ghosts of Motley Hall and Ghostbusters, or cartoon/children's series such as Scooby-Doo and Rentaghost.

There are probably a lot of programs and concepts that I didn't cover, but I think that I gave a pretty good overview of what this subject and these programs are about. It should be mentioned again regarding this "spirit world," that there is probably many times more "good" and "protective" spirits; but in human nature we just accept the positive things, and only when there is a negative presence do we complain. Although there is evidence of a "soul process," there's also evidence of spirits just coming into being based on love, hate, pain, etc., almost as if they were grown like a plant. Some are the spirits of humans, but others may have been animals or other life forms, or spirits which never were alive and are attached to places or objects.

Also, there is "unfairness" within this spirit world. Human souls are meant to move on to the next plane, but sometimes another soul may stop them and hold them in a place, or even terrorize them. Suicide is one act which seems to hold a soul on the earth. This doesn't mean that this soul is "bad." Sometimes a soul of a person chooses to stay. Other times, there are "energy stamps" from events or acts that have occurred in a place and/or become attached to an object. Sometimes, for example, a negative energy stamp can be placed by a person that commits an act of violence at a location... but that stamp exists even though this person is still alive. This whole subject strongly ties into the concept of "animism" as well.
