One thing on YouTube that I've found interesting are people who take a little interest in visiting the filming locations of their favorite films. Often there are films which affect individuals in a powerful manner, and it's only logical that they would ponder the actual locations... that time-space thing. I recall one French guy who vacationed in Washington state to visit the filming location of 'First Blood', and he filmed his experience on "the bridge" and other places. I mean, the sky's the limit... "the Brady Bunch house"... "the Scarface mansion"... "the Fast Times At Ridgemont High mall"... one guy even found the Fast Times' "Hamilton family house with the pool"... another person actually tracked down "the drug deal gone bad house" from 'Boogie Nights'. Of course, I can think of many older films or younger ones, and one's generation obviously affects what they would gravitate towards.

I can even recall looking up "Norma Desmond's mansion" from 'Sunset Boulevard' (1950), which appeared so mysterious to me in the early part of the film... largely because of the black and white cinematography. It was demolished in 1957 to construct an office building. The Los Angeles mansion almost appeared to be off the beaten path in the film, but the area has filled out now. 'Vertigo' (1958) was another one with fascinating images of 50s San Francisco, and not surprisingly is another "filming locations" favorite. 'Vertigo' is now 70 years old, that's a scary thought. 'The Birds' (1963)--filmed in Bodega Bay, California--is one old film in which the location is eerily similar today.

‘THE BIRDS’ MUSEUM: A Morbid Homage to Hitchcock’s Feathery Friends
"I also have to salute the great city of Bodega Bay for embracing all of this, and keeping so many of the landmarks tourist friendly. Some towns aren't so proud of their cinematic history, especially if that history involved birds murdering innocent woman and children."

Believe it or not, 'The Craft' will celebrate its silver anniversary next year! Many Neopagans can trace the start of their paths to when the film first came out. The below video of the "Dangerous Type scene" is a powerful one from the film, set to the song 'Dangerous Type' by Letters To Cleo. After some early struggles, this scene just screeeams out the simple concept of "EMERGING." To me the film represents and displays an idea, more than its storyline. Ultimately what specifically that idea is, is a question of some debate; something that I've tackled before, and will later on, but will just let it lie for now.

'Revisiting the L.A. Filming Locations of The Craft 20 Years Later'

Jared Cowan - LAWeekly.com - May 2, 2016

[Image right: "We are the weirdos, mister." Rachel True, left, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell and Robin Tunney in Simi Valley in The Craft; Credit: Columbia Pictures]

The long lineage of movies about witchcraft can be traced back to the silent film days when, in 1922, the dramatized documentary Häxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages was released. Since then, there have been mega witch hits such as The Blair Witch Project and critical darlings like recent release The Witch. Fan favorites that didn’t catch on at the box office or with critics, like Teen Witch and Hocus Pocus, later became cable-network staples.

None of these films, however, has come close to achieving a long-lasting cultural impact on a generation of fans like 1996’s The Craft. The movie, about four outcast teen girls living in L.A. who form their own coven and learn to cultivate their powers, was the perfect mix of '90s grunge with classic fantasy and horror elements.

In a year dominated by blockbusters such as Independence Day, Twister and the first Mission: Impossible, The Craft didn’t rank anywhere near the top of 1996’s highest-grossing movies. Yet the film, released on May 3, 1996, was most certainly a hit with millennials and young Gen Xers, grossing about $55 million worldwide on an estimated $15 million budget. Directed by Andrew Fleming and starring Robin Tunney as Sarah, Fairuza Balk as Nancy, Neve Campbell as Bonnie and Rachel True as Rochelle, The Craft is one of those rare films that fans still obsess over years later. (I mean, who still talks about Twister?)

Pillar - Frontline

wing92

Song: Frontline
Artist: Pillar
Album: Where Do We Go From Here

It's not like I'm walking alone into the valley of the shadow of death
Stand beside one another, 'cause it ain't over yet
I'd be willing to bet that if we don't back down
You and I will be the ones that are holding the Crown in the end
When it's over, we can say, "Well done"
But not yet, 'cause it's only begun
So, pick up, and follow me, we're the only ones
To fight this thing, until we've won
Lets drive on and don't look back
It doesn't mean we can't learn from our past
All the things that we mighta done wrong
We could've been doing this all along

[*]
Everybody, with your fists raised high
Let me hear your battle cry tonight
Stand beside, or step aside
We're on the frontline [x2]

And we'll be carrying on, until the day it doesn't matter anymore
Step aside, you forgot what this is for
We fight to live, we live to fight
And tonight, you'll hear my battle cry
We live our lives on the frontlines
We're not afraid of the fast times
These days have opened up my eyes
And now, I see where the threat lies

[* Repeat]

(Echo) We live our lives on the frontlines
We're not afraid of the past times
We live our lives on the frontlines
We've got to lead the way [x2]
