Animals and insects even within the limits of their capacity and dimension follow the divine plan and nature’s law in perfect accordance while man with all his advantages cannot.

Animals and insects do not mix their species, do not pollute the planet, torture one another or kill each other for personal gain or travel half way around the world to destroy someone else’s nation. Nor would they ever fill their bodies with mind altering substances or partake in such sick perversions that mankind is prone to. Today’s world is spiraling into chaos because man has turned his back on his Gods and divine inheritance, turned his back on nature and the will to be as a species which instills the essential building blocks that are the earmark of a healthy culture and society. Race is the foundation of all culture. A culture is the expression of an ideal and great ideals can change the world and known to have created golden ages in the course of history. Greenland Sharks Can Live for 400 Years

A new study has found the Greenland shark to be the longest-lived vertebrate known to science. Radiocarbon dating of the eyes of 28 female Greenland sharks revealed one specimen to be almost four centuries old. The research also suggested Greenland sharks do not reproduce until they are around 150 years old. The creatures are among the slowest moving sharks, swimming at only one or two miles per hour.

I suspect that most people still don't realize that "corn" (maize) is native to North America, and only became large and practical after a long period of early genetic engineering by Amerindians. Initially maize was a small barely edible crop.

While hiking along the coast--at close to twilight during those warm late Indian Summers--I have on a few occasions observed bats who were out and about while it was still quite light out. They were flying so low that I could actually make out the detail of their fury faces! They were "little brown bats," which are very hardy bats who can live almost anywhere. These natives of North America are common in more northern climates, including Alaska. They seem to be more solitary, as opposed to the great hordes of bats that exist in more southern climates. If you click on the above image--then click on full size and block out the wings--it looks like a stereotype for a movie monster. Actually, they're totally harmless; and as long as they don't find their way into a home or garage where they could become a pest.

After the conclusion of the WW2 Battle of Stalingrad, Nazi Party member and official photographer for the NSDAP, Holger Hildebrand, was captured by the Red Army at the Battle of Stalingrad. He and thousands of other Wehrmacht soldiers were later sent on a death march towards Siberia; this mammoth footage is understood to have been taken during that journey. (Hildebrand is believed to have died a prisoner of war at a Soviet forced labor camp in late 1945. His Granddaughter later came into possession of the footage when his belongings were repatriated to Germany from Russia decades after his death.)

King Tut is related to most Western European men today (British, Spanish, French), which seems to suggest a proto-European connection (not specifically Germanic). Many like to jump to conclusions, especially those who only hold racial motivations regarding this issue. King Tut and his family could have been atypical. People should just compile the evidence first. Most Egyptian art seems to suggest a particular type of small light-boned Mediterranean strain, although the old paint can change color over time. Everything has to be factored in. This issue(s) is still inconclusive. Remember a few years ago when a few Etruscan DNA results came in which reflected ancient Anatolian markers.. and suddenly everyone was a Turk! This despite the fact that the Turkic stock only entered what has been European/Byzantine territory (modern Turkey) long after the Roman/Byzantine era hand ended.

This instrumental song is entitled 'Sorcerer' and it was produced by a German electronic music collective called Tangerine Dream for the 1977 American film 'Sorcerer' starring Roy Scheider. This song is an equivalent to the instrumental song 'Chase' by Giorgio Moroder from the film 'Midnight Express' the following year. The footage from the film here can be a little distracting to the music. Although largely regarded as a good film, oddly this movie doesn't seem to have gotten any play on television over the years.

‘300’ (2006) – movie review

I don’t just review any movie. I try to stay somewhat on topic here, with either a cultural or spiritual tie-in. The Spartans had some strong similarities with the Langobards. Both were societies which were based on war and the warrior ethic… “Warrior Socities.” In both societies, boys were trained for war from an early age.

One difference is that the Langobards didn’t use “eugenics,” although it’s probably safe to say that the greatest Langobard warriors probably had more children than most. The Winnili/Langobards had no problem with “odds.” Their kill/loss ratio was staggering, and possibly unequaled in history. The better-known Spartans, however, produced the greatest single known battle effort in the history of warfare.

The movie was about the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC, where Spartan King Leonidas leading 300 Spartans against what was described as a Persian imperial army of millions.  Although exaggerated, the odds were in fact incredible. The battle has been described by some as “saving Western civilization,” which may cloud the harder reality that it certainly was part of saving Greek civilization at that time. The movie portrayed other items which were not accurate, of which I will avoid. Most of which are more-or-less obvious.

This battle was just a part of the “Greco-Persian Wars”(499-449 BC). YouTube has documentaries galore about these wars and the Battle of Thermopylae. It could also be noted that, along with the Langobard comparison, there is a clear comparison to the Samurai. The Samurai were another example of a “Warrior Society,” with similar traits to the Spartans. One trait that the Spartans and Samurai had in common was that they seemed to literally wish to die in the glory of battle. They actually would seek it, if the historical accounts are true. The Spartans at Thermopylae at least, must have had absolutely no fear of death.

A Greek force of approximately 7,000 men marched north to block the pass in the summer of 480 BC. The Persian army, alleged by the ancient sources to have numbered over one million but today considered to have been much smaller (various figures are given by scholars ranging between about 100,000 and 150,000), arrived at the pass in late August or early September. The vastly outnumbered Greeks held off the Persians for seven days (including three of battle) before the rear-guard was annihilated in one of history's most famous last stands.

During two full days of battle the small force led by Leonidas blocked the only road by which the massive Persian army could pass. After the second day of battle a local resident named Ephialtes betrayed the Greeks by revealing a small path that led behind the Greek lines. Leonidas, aware that his force was being outflanked, dismissed the bulk of the Greek army and remained to guard the rear with 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians, 400 Thebans and perhaps a few hundred others, most of whom were killed.

300 (film)

300 is a 2007 American fantasy action film based on the 1998 comic series of the same name by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley. Both are fictionalized retellings of the Battle of Thermopylae within the Persian Wars. The film was directed by Zack Snyder, while Miller served as executive producer and consultant. It was filmed mostly with a super-imposition chroma key technique, to help replicate the imagery of the original comic book.

The plot revolves around King Leonidas (Gerard Butler), who leads 300 Spartans into battle against the Persian "god-King" Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his invading army of more than 300,000 soldiers. As the battle rages, Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey) attempts to rally support in Sparta for her husband. The story is framed by a voice-over narrative by the Spartan soldier Dilios (David Wenham). Through this narrative technique, various fantastical creatures are introduced, placing 300 within the genre of historical fantasy.

The film has a certain cinematic quality that is difficult to describe, but it’s as though one is watching it through a dark fuzzy lens, into historical abyss. The Persian armies must have had segments which were not ethnic Persians, who were from other territories of the Persian Empire.. but that point was however much exaggerated in the film. The film starts out making it very clear how Spartan boys were raised to be fighting machines. R. Lee Ermey couldn’t have done a better job of creating killing machines. They were trained to engage in pure evolutionary struggle, to ignore pain, and were constantly tested to their limits. “Respect and Honor” was their slogan, according to the movie; which reminded me of “Strength and Honor” from ‘Gladiator’.

King Leonidas was basically the main protagonist, along with his wife Queen Gorgo. The two are engaged in a political conflict, not only with the invading Persians, but with “bought-off traitors” within Spartan politics. Another quote from the movie, I think from the narrator Dilios, the only survivor of the 300, retelling the story: “Only the hard and strong may call themselves Spartans.”

Before going to war, a Spartan King must go through a religious rite in which he seeks guidance from the wise men of Greek polytheism. The movie portrays them as diseased and “monster-like”; which is the only real item from the movie that I would criticize. I know some people were not happy about what was a similar portrayal from the cable tv series ‘Vikings’, in which the Odinic Skalds were shown to be hideous.

The only other Greek polytheist concept that I remember from the film was was a scene which showed Persian ships sinking in a storm of rain, thunder, and lightning before they could land. One of the Spartans credited the Greek god Zeus for this happening. The opening battle was the most dramatic scene, with the Spartans killing Persians soldiers (or Persian Emperor Xerxes' imperial troops) at will using amazing fighting skills and bravery. The historical record shows that they killed a minimum of ten-to-one! It really could have been twenty-to-one.

Prior to I think the second battle, the narrator Dilios says: “We do what we were trained to do, what we were bred to do, what we were born to do.” Unlike some historical exaggerations, this quote was literally accurate.

'Battle of Thermopylae'

After Leonidas and the 300 sacrificed their lives down to the last man, which allowed for Sparta the time to gather themselves, the stage was set for the big battle. An army of ten thousand Spartan warriors were lined up to do battle with an army of thirty thousand Persians. The narrator Dilios, for the purpose of the movie speaking in real time, gave a short speech to the army. He finishes with the following: “Give thanks, men, to Leonidas and the brave 300! TO VICTORY!”

When viewing it, I thought he said “Take Leonidas and the brave 300 to victory!" Actually, that line would have worked too! Good movie.

‘Beowulf’ (2007) movie review

Beowulf is a 2007 American motion capture computer-animated fantasy film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary, inspired by the Old English epic poem of the same name. The film was created through a motion capture process similar to the technique Zemeckis used in ‘The Polar Express’. The cast includes Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Robin Wright, Brendan Gleeson, John Malkovich, Crispin Glover, Alison Lohman, and Angelina Jolie. It was released in the United Kingdom and United States on November 16, 2007, and was available to view in IMAX 3D, RealD, Dolby 3D and standard 2D format.

This film is animated in a way that it uses the actors’ “likeness” along with their voice over, which was interesting. I suppose that they almost had to make it that way due to the nature of the mythology, the creatures, and the dramatic action. I had watched this movie before, and I liked it more the second time today; most likely because I was able to view it in the morning, which is always better for watching a movie.

The opening scene begins with the text “Denmark A.D. 507.” Much of the movie takes place in Danish/Viking King Hrothgar’s (Anthony Hopkins) “Mead Hall.” They are soon attacked in the hall by a demon named Grendel. Grendel is huge, absolutely hideous, and vicious; and appears far too strong for the king’s soldiers. Responding to the king’s plea for a “hero” to defeat this beast, a great warrior from Gotland Island named Beowulf (Ray Winstone) arrives. I don’t want to give away the movie—and you can read the plot in the link above—but this is the basic storyline.

King Hrothgar’s much younger wife is Queen Wealtheow (Robin Wright), and I don’t think I would be giving too much away to say that she eventually becomes the future King Beowulf’s queen. Without going into the details, the king presents Beowulf the “Royal Dragon Horn,” which later becomes part of a covenant of darkness, and is a central part of the plot.

The struggle between Odinic spirituality and Christian religion is featured in some instances. Odin and Heimdall are mentioned; as well as the “new Roman god Christ Jesus.” The following quote was given by an older King Beowulf to his lieutenant, Wiglaf (Brendan Gleeson), at one point:

“The time of heroes is dead, Wiglaf. The Christ god has killed it. Leaving human kind with nothing but weeping martyrs, fear, and shame."

Grendel is an underworld figure that seems almost like half physical and half spirit; as well as his mother (Angelina Jolie). Grendel’s mother—another underworld demon—is a central character, but I won’t give away the plot. John Malkovich plays Unferth, one of King Hrothgar’s chief aids.

I was struck by the character of Queen Wealtheow. She was so beautiful and elegant—especially as she played the harp and sang—yet had so much humility. Her face and expression was so docile; of course, in an animated way. Later in the film—without giving away too much—she is shown as the older queen of Beowulf. He openly takes on a concubine named Ursula (Alison Lohman). The queen takes the high road and takes it all in stride.

She doesn’t hold anything against the young Ursula, and even heroicly saves her life at a later point. I guess where I’m really going with this is that—quite frankly—I thought the older queen was more beautiful than the younger woman... having aged like a fine wine. I didn’t like the way she was treated, carrying herself with such class.

I would recommend the film, which was an international box office success and is rated highly. It should be noted that scholars have mentioned certain inaccuracies with the thousand-year old English poem (see above link). Actually, the characters were real historical figures; being set within the framework of Norse mythology. Therefore, where does fact end, and mythology begin?
