Manly Palmer Hall (March 18, 1901 – August 29, 1990) was a Canadian-born author, lecturer, astrologer and mystic.
He is best known for his 1928 work The Secret Teachings of All Ages. Over his 70 year career, he gave thousands of lectures, including two at Carnegie Hall, and published over 150 volumes.
In 1934, he founded The Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles, which he dedicated to the "Truth Seekers of All Time", with a research library, lecture hall and publishing house.

Montague Summers
Augustus Montague Summers (10 April 1880 – 10 August 1948) was an English author and clergyman. He is known primarily for his scholarly work on the English drama of the 17th century, as well as for his idiosyncratic studies on witches, vampires, and werewolves, in all of which he professed to believe. He was responsible for the first English translation, published in 1928, of the notorious 15th-century witch hunter's manual, the Malleus Maleficarum.
The occult
Summers' career as an ostensibly Catholic clergyman was highly unusual. He wrote works of hagiography on Saint Catherine of Siena and Saint Anthony Maria Zaccaria, but his primary religious interest was in the subject of the occult. While Aleister Crowley, with whom he was acquainted, adopted the persona of a modern-day witch, Summers played the part of the learned Catholic witch-hunter. In the introduction to his book on The History of Witchcraft and Demonology (1926) he writes:
In the following pages I have endeavoured to show the witch as she really was – an evil liver: a social pest and parasite: the devotee of a loathly and obscene creed: an adept at poisoning, blackmail, and other creeping crimes: a member of a powerful secret organisation inimical to Church and State: a blasphemer in word and deed, swaying the villagers by terror and superstition: a charlatan and a quack sometimes: a bawd: an abortionist: the dark counsellor of lewd court ladies and adulterous gallants: a minister to vice and inconceivable corruption, battening upon the filth and foulest passions of the age.
In 1928, he published the first English translation of Heinrich Kramer's and James Sprenger's Malleus Maleficarum ("The Hammer of Witches"), a 15th-century Latin text on the hunting of witches. In his introduction, Summers insists that the reality of witchcraft is an essential part of Catholic doctrine, and declares the Malleus to be an admirable and correct account of witchcraft and of the methods necessary to combat it. This should be contrasted with the vastly more sceptical and critical attitude of mainstream Catholic scholars, reflected for instance in the Rev. Herbert Thurston's article on "Witchcraft" for the Catholic Encyclopaedia of 1912, which labels the publication of the Malleus a "disastrous episode."
Montague Summers then turned to vampires, producing The Vampire: His Kith and Kin (1928) and The Vampire in Europe (1929), and later to werewolves with The Werewolf (1933). Summers' work on the occult is notorious for his unusual and old-fashioned writing style, his display of erudition, and his purported belief in the reality of the subjects he treats.

Neo-Western genre
Recently I watched 'El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie', which was initially on Netflix before airing on AMC. It featured the yet untold storyline about Jesse Pinkman's fate at the end of the 'Breaking Bad' series. One interesting aspect of 'Breaking Bad" and now 'Better Call Saul' is that they are under what is something of a new genre of Western: "Neo Western."
'Better Call Saul' is in its fifth season now, and while I appreciated the laid-back New Mexico backdrop to its tense storyline, I still have found it a little slow in developing. Some absolutely love it, while others wanted the "Saul Goodman" from 'Breaking Bad' immediately. Well, he's finally arrived!

California dry season
One year ago, California was officially declared out of it's seven year drought. However, currently 59% of the state is abnormally dry. Unlike most states, California has a normal virtually rain-free six-month dry season from approximately the start of May through October. This week, The Lake Erie Murders examines the death of a nun in a hospital chapel in Toledo, Ohio, in 1980. Sister Margaret Ann Pahl’s body was found on the floor of the vestibule of the former Mercy Hospital on Holy Saturday, a day before Easter. It was also a day before her 72nd birthday.
Her killer was a priest, Father Gerald Robinson, who was the chaplain at the hospital. Church historians have said this is the only recorded case of a priest murdering a nun.
A particularly gruesome murder
An autopsy revealed that Sister Margaret Ann had been choked to the edge of death before being stabbed in the head, neck, and face. She had been draped with an altar cloth, and nine of her stab wounds were in the shape of an upside-down cross. There was a smear of blood across her forehead as if she had been anointed in the last rites.
Robinson was questioned at the time, and investigators had their suspicions, but the case went cold due to a lack of evidence. However, the case was reopened in 2003 after a woman accused Robinson of sexually assaulting her when she was a child; these charges were dropped, but police looked again at the evidence from the 1980 murder.

In a recent broadcast of Investigation Discovery's 'The Lake Erie Murders', in an episode entitled 'Black Sabbath', the 1980 case of "Murder of Margaret Ann Pahl" was featured. Father Gerald Robinson, if he was truly guilty, was proof of a Roman Catholic Priest who also happened to be a dark-occult Satanic murderer. Even today---even with all the problems in the church, even with known dark occult practices in high places---this seems almost unfathomable. It's like a Fire Chief being an arsonist!
As covered here before, there are different types of Satanism, of which Father Robinson was of the very worse kind: The practice of evil based on a willful antagonism against Biblical Christianity. The crime clearly had the marks, including an upside down cross, of a ritual murder. It should also be stated that more than a few people believe him to be innocent of the charges. Anyone who follows true crime must have their one favorite "innocent but convicted" case. Even if I entertained one ounce of a thought that he might be innocent, his courtroom manner of what appeared to be total indifference would have been the sealer for me. He couldn't have looked more guilty if he tried! His double-life and it's dramatic contradictions makes this case truly bizarre.

I like to believe that those ancestors of mine who had their true essential culture taken away from them, can look down upon me under the moonlight and be able to say "Even after all of this time, he chose US and our ways over all others." I no longer say "RIP," since Raven will continue on in his own soul journey, and we must continue on as well.

The “Bennington Triangle”
Bermuda Triangle is very well known, but not quite so well known is the “Bennington Triangle”
…the name given to a mysterious area in southwestern Vermont, by author Joe Citro, describing an area in which a number of people went missing between 1920 and 1950. Primarily known for the Battle of Bennington, the region is rich in historical events dating back to the 1700’s. Bennington is fertile ground for ghostly events, folklore and supernatural occurrences. The region is often referred to as the “Bennington Triangle” due to the many odd, unexplained happenings within its surroundings, buildings and nearby mountains. Native Americans consider Glastenbury Mountain “cursed” and used it strictly for burying their dead. Locals believe that Native Americans regarded Glastenbury as “cursed” and avoided it, as well as tales of hairy “wild men” and other strange beasts in the woods. They believed the land to be cursed because all four winds met in that spot. There is also mention in native American folklore of an enchanted stone which is said to swallow anything that steps on it.
Over the years there have been between 30-40 unexplained disappearances on the mountain. It is known for certain that at least five persons from this area went missing, some of them on Glastenbury Mountain itself, between 1945 and 1950. These include 74 year-old Middie Rivers, 68 year-old James Tedford, 8 year-old Paul Jepson, 18 year-old Paula Welden, and 53 year-old Frieda Langer. Of these remains of only one was found, that of Frieda Langer.Over the years there have been between 30-40 unexplained disappearances on the mountain. It is known for certain that at least five persons from this area went missing, some of them on Glastenbury Mountain itself, between 1945 and 1950. These include 74 year-old Middie Rivers, 68 year-old James Tedford, 8 year-old Paul Jepson, 18 year-old Paula Welden, and 53 year-old Frieda Langer. Of these remains of only one was found, that of Frieda Langer.
Most reports on the subject view the circumstances as mysterious, as her body turned up in some tall grasses in an area that had been searched extensively a number of times in the seven months between her disappearance and the discovery of the corpse in an area that had been searched many times, making it unlikely that the search teams had simply missed her. There were several strange circumstances surrounding these disappearances. These are just a few examples of people who have come up missing in the area.
Because of the wide ranges of age and gender of the missing persons, it is thought that the possibility of them being victims of a serial killer is unlikely. This, combined with a lack of any evidence to offer support for any more prosaic explanation, has led many to speculate on possible paranormal causes, including abduction by UFO occupants, “cross dimensional wormholes”, or attack by the “Bennington Monster.” The trails stop partially up the mountain, suggesting that no one goes up there. When you walk into the woodlands of Glastenbury Mountain you don’t hear anything living, it’s as though even the animals don’t dare to venture there.

Short documentary I made a few years ago when I was taking a documentary course in college. Its 20 minutes long split up into two parts on youtube. Its not really finished, I thought I was going to spend the time to re cut some of it but its been sitting on my hard drive for so long and I probably won't ever re cut the film. So I figured I would post in its current state. The editing needs to be paced better and I probably should have conducted some more interviews. When researching the Paula Welden case I found out she has two or three sisters and one who is supposedly still alive, I tried to track her down online to see if I could get an interview but couldn't really find anything. If anyone in fact knows hows to get in touch with current family members let me know and I would probably still be interested in going out to do the interview and posting it on here.

Of course, we know that Washington state has prolific wine producing regions. The same also for the more southern stretches of British Columbia. Yes there are wineries in Alaska, and even several in or around Fairbanks in central Alaska!

Alaska wine refers to wine made in the state of Alaska. There are four wineries in Alaska, which produce mostly fruit wines made with fruits other than grapes. Some wineries produce an ice wine. There are no designated American Viticultural Areas in the state.

Wine grape grower hopes to make first Alaska-grown wine

Bell's Nursery owner Mike Mosesian is a fourth generation grape grower. After years of growing flowers, tomatoes, and table grapes in Anchorage, Mosesian decided to grow wine grapes. He hopes to produce the first Alaskan wine made from locally grown grapes.
