Vikings = Asatru and more With the popularity of this historically accurate (mostly) program, comes an increased interest in the spiritual traditions--dare I say "religion"--of the Vikings. First, I believe that things should be put in proportion. The Vikings were indeed the last great European power which followed the old ways, their "native beliefs." Asatru, Odinism, Heathenism, or whatever name one wants to call it, was once widespread across at least half of northern Europe and elsewhere. In other words it's not a "Viking religion," or a Scandinavian-only tradition. There was an Asutrar story in Austria, Russia, Spain, etc. Academics sometimes refer to it as "Germanic neopaganism," which is accurate if "Germanic" is used in an international Teutonic context. It probably should be noted that Asatru is not glamorized in this series, despite the newfound fascination with the Vikings and their culture.
I think it would be fair to state that it originated with the ancient Teutons, and it's a primarily northern European tradition.... although there are some grey areas. For example, the British Iles, Gaul (France), nations east of Germany, and the Mediterranean nations were spiritually impacted by Asatru, but they weren't Asatrar by-and-large. In addition, there was a lot of crossover and conflation with other European spiritual traditions. Asatru was still making a dramatic impact after the others had largely been run into oblivion. Asatru, like anything else, can be gently merged with any area of one's life. "Native
belief" in general, usually makes a person a better woman or man. I'm not specifically "Asatru," but I understand the concept. There's most often at least some Asutru influence in any European earth-based tradition.... 'Odin worship of the Lombards and Benevento': Part I
My hope is that the increased interest in Asatru will also translate to an increased interest in other European spiritual traditions, of which there's quite a few... including multiple for the same nation or region. For example, someone asked me online what the "native belief" of Ireland was. I responded that there was Druidism and Gaelic Polytheism which were both heavily connected to Irish history. Also, there were several forms of ancient witchcraft which existed there deep into the ancient world; as well as the impact of Asatru. That impact wouldn't be just from the Vikings, but from other sources. There were earlier Teutonic movements. Also, there has long been a cultural linkage between Ireland and Iceland. Of course, this is just one of many regional examples.
Think outside the box! Using the above example of multiple regional traditions, or for those who have multiple European heritages, one could decide to describe themselves as "Asatru with Gaelic influences" (or Druidic). I could describe myself as "Stregheria with Asatru influences" (or Etruscan, Gaulish, Roman, Druidic, Cernic, Aradianist, etc.). Everything doesn't absolutely have to be one-thing! Some Freemasons in the UK over the years, have considered themselves something unofficially as "Druidic Freemasons." I also believe that one should really only accept one primary path. Another phrase describing the beliefs of a native-believer is "radical traditionalism." .

'Eerie 'Portal' Appears in Argentina' Coast to Coast AM - October 28, 2017 A woman walking her dog through a park in Argentina captured a remarkable image which shows a breathtaking beam of light in the sky. The unnamed witness took the photograph at the San Jose Park in the city of Feliciano on the morning of October 24th. Although some paranormal enthusiasts might be hoping that the image is proof of some kind of alien portal opening or other fantastic event, weather experts say that it is actually a natural phenomenon. Meteorologists explain that the tube-like formation is created when masses of warm and cold air briefly come close to each other, but do not merge nor collide. As for the source of the illumination, the woman apparently took the picture just as lightning had struck, creating just the right combination of events to produce the appearance of a ethereal beam of light. Athiests... scientific dimwits Richard Dawkins is not spiritual or even scientific. Every time there's a tragedy, this guy chimes in and tweats "Where is your god now!!" Atheism is "a politic" more than a religion as some claim. It's the reason that when facts or fossils are discovered which prove current theories are wrong, partly wrong, or incomplete... they're ignored and/or put away into storage and forgotten about. There's nothing particularly impressive about someone following a political agenda when a system is in place which strongly favors your side. People talk about "fake news".... how about "fake science"..!? Trillionaire/Globalist political interests have their grimy hands into every area of human endeavor. This guy is so dense that he ignores even the mainstream work at CERN, literally proving a metaphysical world right before our eyes! More and more often we hear powerful voices, on a variety of Globalist choke points, stating something to the affect of "there is no debate on this issue" when it can be debated. 'New DNA Testing on 2,000-Year-Old Elongated Paracas Skulls Changes Known History' April Holloway - Ancient-Origins.net - July 23, 2016 The elongated skulls of Paracas in Peru caused a stir in 2014 when a geneticist that carried out preliminary DNA testing reported that they have mitochondrial DNA “with mutations unknown in any human, primate, or animal known so far”. Now a second round of DNA testing has been completed and the results are just as controversial – the skulls tested, which date back as far as 2,000 years, were shown to have European and Middle Eastern Origin. These surprising results change the known history about how the Americas were populated. Paracas is a desert peninsula located within Pisco Province on the south coast of Peru. It is here where Peruvian archaeologist, Julio Tello, made an amazing discovery in 1928 – a massive and elaborate graveyard containing tombs filled with the remains of individuals with the largest elongated skulls found anywhere in the world. These have come to be known as the ‘Paracas skulls’. In total, Tello found more than 300 of these elongated skulls, some of which date back around 3,000 years. con't...

'Of Course Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' Is the No. 1 Song on iTunes Right Now' Cady Lang - Time.com - August 21, 2017 Turn around, bright eyes — ahead of the Great American Eclipse, Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” has reached the number one spot on iTunes. On streaming platform Spotify, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” saw a 2,859% increase in the U.S. and an 827% globally. The Welsh singer’s viral popularity at the moment has caught some real momentum; in addition to Tyler singing her hit (and quite apropos) song during the actual solar eclipse while aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Total Eclipse Cruise, the song is also up 500% in sales, clocking in at 12,000 downloads the week of August 20 according to Nielsen Music.

Too bad Bonnie Tyler got involved with her trashy husband, who publically disgraced her, in the first place. I know that's just a perception, as he really disgraced himself. Who cares if he's a multi-millionaire; that's like the equivalent of owning 2 houses in an average modest Bay Area neighborhood here. It's interesting that in the U.S. military, adultery is still considered a crime. A crime meaning they handcuff, arrest, and charge you.

'Daughter follows grisly footsteps' Woman killed the same way as her mother Rachel Melcer - The Cincinnati Enquirer - September 18, 1999 Searching for the security she knew during her mother's life, Patricia DeChristopher wandered down a lonely Indiana road one April night and found herself following in the footsteps of her mother's death. Just like her mother, Mrs. DeChristopher, 36, got into a car with two men she hardly knew and wound up dead in the woods, her throat slit. The two men arrested in the Lawrenceburg woman's death — Ronald W. Pavey, 38, and George James Liapis, 33, both of Lawrenceburg — are in jail and awaiting trial early next year. Mr. Pavey was charged with murder, Mr. Liapis with aiding in murder and assisting a criminal. If convicted, they each face up to 55 years in prison. Dennis Mitchell was convicted in 1980 of killing Mrs. DeChristopher's mother, Marie Odette Huckings, exactly the same way. He has a parole hearing scheduled next week and, if successful, could be released from prison Nov. 28. Patrick DeChristopher will do his best to see that all three men remain behind bars. He blames them all for his wife's brutal fate. “That instance right there was the defining moment in Patricia's life, when her mother died. Everything else came back to that, that her mother died that way. She never recovered from it,” he said. He paints a picture of a happy young girl, full of energy and hope, whose life was forever changed when her mother left their upstate New York home for the evening and never returned. After her mother's death, the family fell apart. Patricia, then 16, and her four siblings scattered to the winds, some to foster homes. Her father was either unable or unwilling to help, Mr. DeChristopher said. Patricia lived with one friend of the family after another until she finished high school, then she wandered through New England from one waitressing job to the next. con't....

This case was documented and reenacted this week on the Investigation Discovery program 'Dead Silent' in the episode 'A History of Violence'. Patricia DeChristopher was portrayed by actress Fiona Domenica, as the docudrama fully captured the tragedy of her demise. For some reason that I can't explain, I remember certain cases from the "ID" true-crime channel. I don't remember the biggest, loudest, or most gruesome; just cases of certain innocent individuals and a few small details about and/or relevant to them. I'm not the type of person who becomes sad-on-demand; but some cases are so crushing. Maybe that's part of the reason that true-crime is so popular, more than ever now. The crime has happened already, there's no going back, so it most often creates a ready-made gripping story. Occasionally the victim does escape, which can be unexpectedly uplifting.

Eddie Money - Wanna Be A Rock and Roll Star mrfunderful
************
'Eddie Money' album #1 - 40-year anniversary Eddie Money's first album in 1977 is almost like a "greatest hits" record. He was never able to equal it. It's all hard rock, with a few melodic-style songs. "Eddie Money" (Mahoney) is originally from NYC, but has been based in the Bay Area (East Bay) for all of this time, and is particularly well-known to local audiences here. Although 'Two Tickets to Paradise' and 'Baby Hold On' are the most well-known songs from this record, I most remember 'Wanna Be A Rock and Roll Star'; which somehow captures the fantasy, more so of that day, of being a rock star. To many it was better than being the president... "Wanna be a rock-n-roll star!.... Wanna drive a big black car!" Perhaps four of these songs made the charts, although I personally found 'Got To Get Another Girl' to be a very interesting forgotten find.

Mt. Konocti - An active volcanic field only 30 miles north of the Bay Area Mt. Konocti is a 4,305 foot mountain right on the edge of Clear Lake, California. It is also a dormant volcano, which last erupted about 11,000 years ago. What is also interesting is that it first erupted 350,000 years ago, which shows how small we are within the bounds of time. There is evidence that there was a particularly devastating eruption about 13,000 years ago which dramatically changed the whole landscape. Geological status The U.S. Geological Survey classifies the Clear Lake Volcanic Field, of which Mount Konocti is the most prominent volcano, as High Threat Potential. The 43,000-acre lake itself, located in Lake County, California, is about 2,500,000 years old. Comparatively, Konocti is a late comer to the landscape. Ancient volcanic glass (obsidian) can be found all over the area. Clear Lake Volcanic Field (USGS)

It's an imaginative-reality spin of the filming of the original... which depicts the actor as a real vampire. It was pretty good. John Malkovich plays the film's real director Frederich Wilhelm Murnau; while Willem Dafoe plays "Count Orlok" the vampire. Actually the part was played by actor Mac Schreck in 1921, however in this spin Orlok plays himself. Clever idea. *************************

QUOTE: “Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.” -- Plato
'The Great New England Vampire Panic' Two hundred years after the Salem witch trials, farmers became convinced that their relatives were returning from the grave to feed on the living Abigail Tucker - Smithsonian Magazine - October 2012 Children playing near a hillside gravel mine found the first graves. One ran home to tell his mother, who was skeptical at first—until the boy produced a skull. Because this was Griswold, Connecticut, in 1990, police initially thought the burials might be the work of a local serial killer named Michael Ross, and they taped off the area as a crime scene. But the brown, decaying bones turned out to be more than a century old. The Connecticut state archaeologist, Nick Bellantoni, soon determined that the hillside contained a colonial-era farm cemetery. New England is full of such unmarked family plots, and the 29 burials were typical of the 1700s and early 1800s: The dead, many of them children, were laid to rest in thrifty Yankee style, in simple wood coffins, without jewelry or even much clothing, their arms resting by their sides or crossed over their chests. Except, that is, for Burial Number 4. Bellantoni was interested in the grave even before the excavation began. It was one of only two stone crypts in the cemetery, and it was partially visible from the mine face. Scraping away soil with flat-edged shovels, and then brushes and bamboo picks, the archaeologist and his team worked through several feet of earth before reaching the top of the crypt. When Bellantoni lifted the first of the large, flat rocks that formed the roof, he uncovered the remains of a red-painted coffin and a pair of skeletal feet. They lay, he remembers, “in perfect anatomical position.” But when he raised the next stone, Bellantoni saw that the rest of the individual “had been completely...rearranged.” The skeleton had been beheaded; skull and thighbones rested atop the ribs and vertebrae. “It looked like a skull-and-crossbones motif, a Jolly Roger. I’d never seen anything like it,” Bellantoni recalls. Subsequent analysis showed that the beheading, along with other injuries, including rib fractures, occurred roughly five years after death. Somebody had also smashed the coffin. The other skeletons in the gravel hillside were packaged for reburial, but not “J.B.,” as the 50ish male skeleton from the 1830s came to be called, because of the initials spelled out in brass tacks on his coffin lid. He was shipped to the National Museum of Health and Medicine, in Washington, D.C., for further study. Meanwhile, Bellantoni started networking. He invited archaeologists and historians to tour the excavation, soliciting theories. Simple vandalism seemed unlikely, as did robbery, because of the lack of valuables at the site. Finally, one colleague asked: “Ever heard of the Jewett City vampires?” In 1854, in neighboring Jewett City, Connecticut, townspeople had exhumed several corpses suspected to be vampires that were rising from their graves to kill the living. A few newspaper accounts of these events survived. Had the Griswold grave been desecrated for the same reason? In the course of his far-flung research, Bellantoni placed a serendipitous phone call to Michael Bell, a Rhode Island folklorist, who had devoted much of the previous decade to studying New England vampire exhumations. The Griswold case occurred at roughly the same time as the other incidents Bell had investigated. And the setting was right: Griswold was rural, agrarian and bordering southern Rhode Island, where multiple exhumations had occurred. Many of the other “vampires,” like J.B., had been disinterred, grotesquely tampered with and reburied. In light of the tales Bell told of violated corpses, even the posthumous rib fractures began to make sense. J.B.’s accusers had likely rummaged around in his chest cavity, hoping to remove, and perhaps to burn, his heart. con't.... ************************* Lawrence - The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia.mp4
. For tens of thousands of years, our ancestors feared the night. Half or more of their lives were spent in the darkness. More often than not, a fire was the only separation between dangerous nocturnal predators (including humans) and their vulnerable sleep state. When morning finally arrived, their beloved "risen savior" the Sun was there. Also, the Moon was a guiding light amid the darkness. Most people today, despite occasional reminders, are more-or-less unaware of how dark the night really is. Around the time of the new moon, it's complete darkness. When hiking at night, one becomes aware of the sources of light; either direct nearby lights, the moonlight, or the clouds which are illuminated by the nearby city lights. Within our ancestral/DNA memory, we actually miss the darkness. We naturally crave it because it was once so much a part of our lives within this ancestral memory. Fighting against the night was an organizing principle of society. There was a tremendous spirituality attached to the daytime (Sun) and nighttime (Moon). There's a part of us which is addicted to the darkness, in the same way that an individual came become addicted to alcohol, narcotics, love, attention, revenge, or jealousy. However, predators aside, the darkness is not a negative. Intrinsically, it's beautiful. There's an old saying among police that says "nothing good happens after midnight." That's probably a good rule of thumb. The darkness can be a predators paradise; however, so can the daytime. During the day, a human predator can size up their victim; whereas during the night, it's much more difficult as a person could be carrying a weapon of defense. Regardless of the danger factor, the darkness completely changes the atmosphere; although in a very urbanized area, not as much. It stands to reason that in our remote ancestral past, a type of "culture" developed within both predatory human groups and harmonious human groups. Both are part of our DNA memory, because our ancestors consisted of predators, prey, and everything in between; and all ultimately existing by nature's law: "evolutionary struggle." The predatory humans developed a spirituality based on violence and spirits of blood lust, while those who lived by honest sustainable toil developed a spirituality based on defense and protective spirits. Rituals occurred during the hours of darkness from both sides. In recent years, numerous films have come out based on "vampires and werewolves"; in other words, "human predator cults." On the opposite spiritual side are the "Sun and Moon cults," whose emphasis was on protection, safety, and the defense of the "eternal verities." Varity: a true principle or belief, especially one of fundamental importance. They weren't entirely pacifists, but more-or-less embraced some degree of idealism for their society.
Last night I watched a program on the popular Investigation Discovery channel called 'Devil in Disguise'. From the program description: Devil in Disguise (Documentary, Mystery/Crime) - Troubled 16-year old Rod Ferrell forms a vampire cult, then his fascination with blood turns deadly. In short, he formed a coven of "vampires" which ended up committing murders of innocent people, mutilating animals, and engaged in bizarre rituals such as cutting and drinking each others blood. A person could commit crimes based on greed; but more particularly when predatory groups are formed, it's probably driven by some compulsion from their DNA memory that affects certain individuals. This may be inborn and/or "reawakened" from bad life experiences. This takes form on every level of human society; banking cartels, war profiteers, religious cults, gangs, etc. Within these societies---even if they're achieving their end, even if it's not necessary!---they still partake in blood lust rituals. Aside from the predatory element, there's nothing wrong with embracing the night or darkness. Embracing it in the tradition of the defensive and positive energy minded Moon cults of the distant past. I feel sorry for those kids who followed Rod Ferrell and ruined their lives. They could have shifted their mindset. Even if they were "misfits," there's always a practical way to follow the positive energy without betraying your natural instincts. The dark imagery of Halloween often resonates something within people. Much more often it's based on positive energy, but not always. Wiccans and those of the Goth subculture have produced some beautiful dark artwork. "Dark" not meaning negative energy. A dash of it is okay, as it reminds us of that aspect of our past.

I believe that real spiritual traditions, those which are ancestral and Earth-based, should not be conflated with fantasy role-playing.

"Feast to the Gods" Now this is our kinda thing! Apparently the "Feast to the Gods" was an ancient tradition of the Gauls, and likely other ancient nations, which took place every first of June on a midnight. I'm guessing that this was a combination of a spiritual rite to the gods, sort've a followup of the April and May celebrations, celebrating the start of the warmest four months, a way of "taking charge of the night," and of having a great feast and social gathering. They worked hard and played hard! It took place outdoors, under the stars, big fire going, lots of food, a big roast, lots of mead, and lots of laughter and dancing! It probably even scared off the nocturnal predators a bit, at least on that night. Maybe this is a tradition that we should revive. A fire pit and roast wouldn't be necessary; a few lanterns, fold up chairs, and pizzas may do. Alcohols? That's up to you. I think being outdoors would be a must however. Under the stars; the gods! Even just saying their names, and the names of ancestors, out loud would be important. .
The "purple haze" from ancient Saturn The "Saturnian Priesthood" of ancient Phoenicia, whose chief god was EL (Saturn), wore purple robes. This was because the dwarf star Saturn of many thousands of years ago, emitted a dim purple haze from its position in the northern sky. Saturn was once our only "Sun/star" when the Earth was in a little Saturnian solar system at some unknown point in the very remote past. Then our little solar system came in and joined the current solar arrangement as our once glorious star fizzled out. I'm guessing that in the same way that our Sun emits a white/yellowish light, and in the same way that our next closest star system Alpha Centauri emits a white/bluish light; that the very ancient Saturn emitted a white/purplish light, when it was in its full-star glory.

Perhaps these lyrics were merely a description of an acid trip; or it could have had a double-meaning with the drug experience being the exoteric, and the Saturnian legend being the esoteric. The reference to kissing the sky made it clear that this was not a purple smoke bomb; it was the sky. That's important. "All in my brain" could mean some type of ancestral memory, somehow recalling the "Golden Age" when Saturn still emitted a dim "purple haze." Again, the exoteric/esoteric double-meaning.

Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze (South Saturn Delta Cover) South Saturn Delta
************
If Saturn emitted it's "purple haze" in the northern sky, then it might be said that the Earth was facing "south Saturn." The photography of Saturn from Earth seems to clearly reflect this. It does look like you're "looking up at its bottom." The mathematical meaning of "delta" refers to "a change," which could mean a solar change of some type. But c'mon.... read the above! "Purple Haze" and "Saturn"?... or "purple haze being emitted from south Saturn to our northern sky." Either Jimi Hendrix read up on these legends, or it was suggested to him by someone.

As in flipping someone off, a very negative gesture. The ring finger represents the Sun. The thumb represents "Will"... perhaps as in thumbs up, or down.
