Apparently the term "Pagan" came from when the Christians had already pushed the "native believers" out of mainstream society... out of the cities. They were relegated to the rural countryside, hence the term pagan, which meant "country dweller, peasant." It was however, part of our history. It also reflects in a strong way, connecting with the land... with nature. Some people don't like the term. Given our circumstances, I don't see any problem with it as a catch-all term.
