Full Pink Moon 2017

'Full Moon for April 2017' (The Old Farmer's Almanac)

I had wanted to write something about the last two full moons, as we were blessed with beautiful clear evenings for them here on the central California coast... as well as an amazingly bright and large Venus.

On the back trails on those evenings, one can discover a perfect lunar moment. For me it was a trail sandwiched between an industrial area and a hillside. On the industrial side there is a building with a large open field... with large trees covering the parallel street. There was a place to sit and just look at the bright moon right above the trail, illuminating it in a special way.

The moon rays also illuminated everything; the grassy hills, the trees, the concrete, the field. There's something magick-like about moonlight. It was such a perfect time and place, I didn't want to leave. In the same manner that we need the sun's rays for our physical health (vitamin D), I think we also need the moon's rays for our spiritual health. Of course, the source is the sun... but filtered by the moon... sort've like a father and mother.

This full pink moon will occur this Tuesday, April 11 at 2:08 AM est. In other words, "Monday evening"... tonight.

A mini-tribute to true crime "reenactment" actresses and actors (i.e. Investigation Discovery)

These people are great! Some portray absolute scoundrels, and we look at them with anger and scorn... as if it's really "them"... but it's not. They're just actors doing a great job. Thank you!!

'Is Our Entire Universe An Atom In A Different Dimension?'

Nuretic - AboveTopSecret.com - February 9, 2013

Is it possible that our entire universe is just one of trillions and trillions of other atoms that make up a whole new dimension?

If size (like time and space) is relative, then if we are able to go well beyond our universe, would we be able to view it in a way that's similar to looking at the Earth from the moon? Just because the universe may seem unbelievably big to us, doesn't mean it's big to beings from another dimension. Perhaps to them, it is actually the size of an atom. For all we know, our universe could be an actual atom that is part of a blade of grass on a planet of another realm entirely...

The same thing can be said about things that are incredibly small. Take a nucleus of an atom for example. That nucleus can be cut into halves, then quarters, and eventually you can wind up with one millionth of a nucleus... yet that one millionth part of a nucleus itself can then be cut into halves, then quarters and so and so on... It never reaches a point of absolute nothingness.

Since size is relative, even the most gigantic stars in our universe are just tiny specs of light when you go out far enough.

Flying humanoids

I don't really cover mysteries here unless it has another tie-in to something else more on-topic, or if it's something very consequential and under reported. However, individually, I think we should look into everything. The "flying humanoids" phenomenon could be explained as people using "power packs" which have been around for decades, and are probably all the more advanced now. These flying humanoids could merely be rich adrenaline junkies who are playing with their toys. It's not all that much different than bungie jumping or parachuting out've an airplane. This one photograph from Mexico City some years ago is very odd looking, and in full color, but could fall under the same explanation. This person appears to be wearing a heavy suit and riding some sort've small vehicle/device. Anti-gravity and magnetics are among new technologies being developed by the military industrial complex, and are always a good twenty years ahead of the mainstream.

Fleetwood Mac - Over My Head (Lyrics)

"Over My Head" by Fleetwood Mac was released as the second single from their 1975 eponymous album and was a #9 hit in Canada. It was also their first Top 40 success in The US, reaching #20 on Billboard.

I couldn't resist another mystery....

....especially since it was such a clear photograph. Loch Ness is in Scotland, the same degree north as southern Alaska, which would seem to be far too cold for this to be a large water reptile. Also, unlike the alleged bigfoot, it's brain would be too small and not intelligent enough to "hide."

Where does Conan the Barbarian fit in?

On a couple of occasions, Stephen McNallen has said that Conan was one of his early inspirations. Conan the Barbarian was a great comic book which I remember very well from when I was a child in the form of Marvel Comics. Part of it was the concept of travel and adventure from our ancestral memory, which is largely missing from our lives today. Something like a heroic soldier of fortune; a free agent type of warrior. The character was also known as Conan the Cimmerian and other names, and lived in the Hyborean Age after the destruction of Atlantis. Conan is a Cimmerian. From Robert E. Howard's writings (The Hyborian Age among others) it is known that the Cimmerians were based on the Celts or Gaels. This fictional Cimmerian origin is left sort've of open-ended, as it loosely points of different corners of ancient Europe or to Indo-Europeans. The intensity of the character just leaped from the pages. You always knew that he was ready to meet the next challenge.

Cimmeria is described as a "land of Darkness and deep Night", a gloomy place with dark woods, dusky silent streams and a leaden cloudy sky.

'Cimmeria' (poem by Robert E. Howard 1932)

I remember
The dark woods, masking slopes of sombre hills;
The grey clouds' leaden everlasting arch;
The dusky streams that flowed without a sound,
And the lone winds that whispered down the passes.

Vista upon vista marching, hills on hills,
Slope beyond slope, each dark with sullen trees,
Our gaunt land lay. So when a man climbed up
A rugged peak and gazed, his shaded eye
Saw but the endless vista--hill on hill,
Slope beyond slope, each hooded like its brothers.

It was a gloomy land that seemed to hold
All winds and clouds and dreams that shun the sun,
With bare boughs rattling in the lonesome winds,
And the dark woodlands brooding over all,
Not even lightened by the rare dim sun
Which made squat shadows out of men; they called it
Cimmeria, land of Darkness and deep Night.

It was so long ago and far away
I have forgotten the very name men called me.
The axe and flint-tipped spear are like a dream,
And hunts and wars are like shadows. I recall
Only the stillness of that sombre land;
The clouds that piled forever on the hills,
The dimness of the everlasting woods.
Cimmeria, land of Darkness and the Night.

Oh, soul of mine, born out of shadowed hills,
To clouds and winds and ghosts that shun the sun,
How many deaths shall serve to break at last
This heritage which wraps me in the grey
Apparel of ghosts?  I search my heart and find
Cimmeria, land of Darkness and the Night.

A Gold Cauldron's Sinister Secrets

The discovery of a golden cauldron in a Bavarian lake may be evidence of a secret Nazi cult formed by Heinrich Himmler.

From: NAZI TEMPLE OF DOOM

Chiemsee Cauldron

The Chiemsee Cauldron is a gold cauldron found at the bottom of Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria in 2001. The cauldron is decorated with figures reminiscent of the style of the Gundestrup cauldron. It has a diameter of 50 cm and a height of 30 cm, and is made from 10.5 kg (23.15 pounds) of 18 carat gold.

*************************

The Gundestrup caldron--with its clear depiction of Cernunnos--was of Gaulish cultural origin, although discovered in northern Denmark. It may have been brought there at another time, or it may have been a gift from a Gaulish chieftain to a Teutonic chieftain. I don't think there was any absolute historical border that separated the Gauls from the Teutons in northern Europe. That particular interaction is a curious one to me.

On Monday, Aug. 21, in the middle of the day, the sky will go dark. The temperature will suddenly get several degrees colder. Birds will stop chirping and retreat to their nests. And tens of millions of people, crammed into a 60-mile-wide path that crosses from Oregon to the Carolinas, will stand in America looking up at the sky.

It’s easy to understand why many people will view this as an act of God.

The total solar eclipse that will cross America this summer — an event that last happened 99 years ago — will be an important moment for scientific observers and a massive nationwide spectator event. It will also, for many people of faith, be evidence of God’s majesty — and even, to a few, a harbinger of the coming end of the world.

Bloodsport - "American Football BC"

The "Barbarian Horde" scene from the film 'Gladiator' is like a football game. Monday Night Football: Rome Legionnaires vs. Carthage Barbarians. They wore helmets, different colored uniforms... the gold/red team vs. the blue/silver team. The Roman Colosseum could have been the Los Angeles Colosseum... maybe this was USC vs. UCLA? In particular, the part where one guy pitches Maximus the sword; it was like the quarterback pitching the football to the halfback! When he then barks out commands, this was like a quarterback (the "field general") calling an audible or a defensive captain calling out a coverage. Then when he takes off on horseback and slashes through the opposing side.. it was like a ball carrier "slashing" through the defense. When "Carthage" finally won, the fans, coaches, and winning teams celebrated just like an American football team would.

Nebra, Nebraska

The word "Nebraska" is of Amerindian origin.

Nebraska's name is derived from transliteration of the archaic Otoe words Ñí Brásge, pronounced [ɲĩbɾasꜜkɛ] (contemporary Otoe Ñí Bráhge), or the Omaha Ní Btháska, pronounced [nĩbɫᶞasꜜka], meaning "flat water", after the Platte River that flows through the state.

Still, the "Nebra" sounds like Nebra, Germany; this is were the Nebra sky disk was discovered. Naturally this astronomically-based artifact is based on "the sky"... and probably the early Germanic sky gods. Also, the suffix "ska" sort've sounds like "sky." Some Russian and Polish surnames end with "ska"... and there were clear representations of "sky gods" in the very ancient city of Arkaim, and within the Sintashta culture in what is now Russia.

"Nebra-ska"... just a coincidence, but an interesting compound word in both instances. The state flag and seal portray "flat water" along with "the sky."

As we came upon him, he stopped momentarily and looked at me... sort've like he wanted to fight, but continued on his merry path instead.

Page stated that he designed his own symbol and has never publicly disclosed any reasoning behind it. It has been argued that his symbol appeared as early as 1557 to represent Saturn. The symbol is sometimes referred to as "ZoSo", though Page has explained that it was not in fact intended to be a word at all. Page was known to be a devotee of Aleister Crowley and his sign resembles a magical sigil. The first three parts of the sigil or symbol also resemble the word "Zos" as found in the magical philosophy of Crowley's associate Austin Osman Spare known as 'Zos vel Thanatos'.

Bassist John Paul Jones' symbol, which he chose from Rudolf Koch's Book of Signs, is a single circle intersecting three vesica pisces (a triquetra). It is intended to symbolise a person who possesses both confidence and competence.

Drummer John Bonham's symbol, the three interlocking (Borromean) rings, was picked by the drummer from the same book. It represents the triad of mother, father and child, but, inverted, it also happens to be the logo for Ballantine beer.

Singer Robert Plant's symbol of a feather within a circle was his own design, being based on the sign of the supposed Mu civilization.

A fifth, smaller symbol chosen by guest vocalist Sandy Denny represents her contribution to "The Battle of Evermore"; the figure, composed of three equilateral triangles, appears on the inner sleeve of the LP, serving as an asterisk.

Jack Parsons Lives!: Parsons, Crowley, Hubbard, JPL, NASA, Occultism, Thelema, DOD, & the OTO underground - Part 3

Thelema

Thelema is a religion based on a philosophical law of the same name, adopted as a central tenet by some religious organizations. The law of Thelema is "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will." The law of Thelema was developed in the early 1900s by Aleister Crowley, an English writer and ceremonial magician. He believed himself to be the prophet of a new age, the Æon of Horus, based upon a spiritual experience that he and his wife, Rose Edith, had in Egypt in 1904. By his account, a possibly non-corporeal or "praeterhuman" being that called itself Aiwass contacted him and dictated a text known as The Book of the Law or Liber AL vel Legis, which outlined the principles of Thelema. An adherent of Thelema is a Thelemite.

The Thelemic pantheon includes a number of deities, primarily a trio adapted from ancient Egyptian religion, who are the three speakers of The Book of the Law: Nuit, Hadit and Ra-Hoor-Khuit. Crowley described these deities as a "literary convenience." The religion is founded upon the idea that the 20th century marked the beginning of the Aeon of Horus, in which a new ethical code would be followed; "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law". This statement indicates that adherents, who are known as Thelemites, should seek out and follow their own true path in life, known as their True Will. The philosophy also emphasizes the ritual practice of Magick.

The word thelema is the English transliteration of the Koine Greek noun "will", from the verb "to will, wish, want or purpose." As Crowley developed the religion, he wrote widely on the topic, as well as producing more 'inspired' writing that he collectively termed The Holy Books of Thelema. He also included ideas from occultism, yoga and both Eastern and Western mysticism, especially the Qabalah.

Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO)

Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) ('Order of the Temple of the East' or 'Order of Oriental Templars') is an international fraternal and religious organization founded at the beginning of the 20th century. English author and occultist Aleister Crowley has become the best-known member of the order.

Originally it was intended to be modelled after and associated with European Freemasonry, such as Masonic Templar organizations, but under the leadership of Aleister Crowley, O.T.O. was reorganized around the Law of Thelema as its central religious principle. This Law—expressed as "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law" and "Love is the law, love under will"—was promulgated in 1904 with the writing of The Book of the Law.

Similar to many secret societies, O.T.O. membership is based on an initiatory system with a series of degree ceremonies that use ritual drama to establish fraternal bonds and impart spiritual and philosophical teachings.

O.T.O. also includes the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica (EGC) or Gnostic Catholic Church, which is the ecclesiastical arm of the Order. Its central rite, which is public, is called Liber XV, or the Gnostic Mass.

Conclusion

I don't really have an ending to this, but I can't help but think of two final loose ends. One is that it's possible that the work from Jack Parsons' exercise in "Thelemic/Mainstream Science" may have directly led to the work now being conducted by CERN with dark matter. CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research; largely an international effort, started operation in 1954. Jack Parsons died in 1952. I believe that the dark occultists have now basically won this underground struggle, and use the Abrahamic religious vs. Atheism/secularist phony dialectic to deflect this a bit. However, in many ways they're now open about it for those who take their words and actions seriously... hidden in plain sight.

The second loose end is the dark side of all of this. The sordid history of Aleister Crowley, and others like Michael Aquino, are so bizarre that few would believe it. Metaphysics is just a part of what should be the definition of science. There are positive and negative aspects within this new frontier, and just because some have chosen to focus on the dark side of it doesn't dismiss the reality of this other world. CERN is proving that this "spirit world" (from our perspective) exists. They literally talk about it and perform elaborate rituals now for public consumption. It's likely that we need some help at this point in history... a divine providence.

Happy Pagan New Year!

"It was not only the beginning of a new year, but it was also the beginning of a new year of life and the renewal of the earth. As it is now, celebrating the New Year in the earlier times meant parties and much revelry. In fact, it was said that the people of France did not stop celebrating the New Year until the first day of April! Instead of just one day of celebrations, they had a whole week to bring in the New Year!

"Then, in the year of 1564, the way the people kept track of time was changed. The old calendar was replaced by the Gregorian calendar. The ruler at that time, King Charles the Ninth, made the official proclamation that New Year’s Day would now be celebrated on the first day of January instead of at the end of March."

Excerpt from page 61 of Chapter 3 of 'Witchcraft Out Of The Shadows'

"Childeric III was not the only one who found it necessary to defend Christianity with the weight of the law. In that same year, 743, from the heart of the Empire, the Synod of Rome outlawed the Pagan practice of leaving small offerings of food out for minor spirits because, in a display of logic akin to St. Theodore's, these spirits must be devilish. Rome was feeling particularly threatened that year. In a letter to St. Boniface dated 1 April 743, what we now call April Fool's Day, Pope Zacharias lamented that 'New Year celebrations, divinations, amulets, incantations, and other practices . . . observed in accordance with non-Christian practice' were being performed in the Church of St. Peter the Apostle and throughout the city of Rome."

'Gods of Egypt' (2016) - movie review

Gods of Egypt

Gods of Egypt is a 2016 English-language fantasy film directed by Alex Proyas and featuring ancient Egyptian deities. It stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Élodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, Rufus Sewell, Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush. The film portrays a mortal Egyptian hero who partners with the Egyptian god Horus to save the world from Set and rescue his love.

Filming took place in Australia under the American studio Summit Entertainment. While the film's production budget was $140 million, the parent company Lionsgate's financial exposure was less than $10 million due to tax incentives and pre-sales. The Australian government provided a tax credit for 46% of the film's budget. When Lionsgate began promoting the film in November 2015, it received backlash for its predominantly white cast playing Egyptian deities. In response, Lionsgate and director Proyas apologized for ethnically inaccurate casting.

This is a fantasy film based on Egyptian mythology, with a heavy emphasis on the ancient Egyptian creation myth. There were three planes of existence: the earthly plane, the plane of the "gods," and the afterlife plane. It wasn't like the Greeks gods of film, looking over the affairs of humans; as some of the "gods" (male and female) here lived and ruled among humans. They were taller with superhuman powers, could morph into their individual mythological "stereotype" so to speak (jackal, hawk, etc.), can live a thousand years, and could transcend both the earthly plane and the plane of the gods. They could, however, be killed. Being supermen and superwomen, there was a powerful intended sexual undercurrent despite the film being appropriate for the entire family.

The film begins with a moving overhead shot that looked almost like a modern city with pyramids, temples, and palm trees. It quickly introduces the two protagonists: the youthful god Horus whose father Osiris is the King of Egypt, and the boyish young adult Bek. The god Horus has a slight attitude in the apparent process of finding himself, while the commoner Bek is energetically bouncing off of walls. Horus' love interest is Hather, the goddess of love; while Bek's love interest is young Zaya. Without giving away too much, Osiris' evil brother Set, played by zealous actor Gerard Butler of '300' fame, conducts a coup and takes over the nation.

When Horus attempts to stop Set, Set removes his eyes. However, those "eyes"--looking like glowing blue diamonds, are really more like stealing his high-tech device... they can be "put back." Every god and goddess has one of two such super "devices" specialized more specifically for them as individuals. This movie mixed high technology with an almost futuristic appearance, with the backdrop of ancient Egyptian style (landscape, architecture, dress). Bek steals the eye device, and soon teams up with Horus, and that's basically the gist of the movie. It's very fast paced, with many different computer generated scenes that make this a difficult movie to review if one wanted to sift through every scene and character. It's basically Set vs. Horace. Since I didn't give away anything beyond the first ten of fifteen minutes, I don't think I spoiled anything.

There are many other characters, such as the chief god Ra, which is Horus' grandfather. Set had already killed Osiris. Thoth is prominently featured. This was very much a fantasy movie, not so much because it was "fantasy"... but lets just say that it's very fast paced with many moving parts. The two protagonists grow on you as the movie goes on, and by the end become sort've a mutual-admiration-society.

Two apparently fantasy monuments depicted in this film caught my neopagan eye. One was a very tall proportionately slender obelisk-like temple, maybe darker in color, with a base that curved out wider. I couldn't find an image of it, but it struck me as an impressive design. The other was a relatively small, open, circular, sun symbol monument.... shown up on the first image here. It was depicted on the top a mountain, with the sun's rays blasting upon it from an upward facing angle. That's struck me as impressive.

One touchy issue, which apparently this film was not able to avoid, was the "race and ancient Egypt" thing. Since so many sides want "their way," and because there were different racial/ethnic factions in ancient Egyptian history, this would be a whole posting that I don't want to do. Why was it just sort've okay for Thor's father to be Black in film? Anyway, there were different races shown in the movie, both as gods and humans. The two protagonists were played by men of European ancestry, and their romantic interests were played by mixed European/Asian women who looked like the exotic fantasy perception of "Cleopatra-types."

Jack Parsons Lives!: Parsons, Crowley, Hubbard, JPL, NASA, Occultism, Thelema, DOD, & the OTO underground - Part 2

N A S A and the Occult Project 'Babalon Working'Parsons Crowley Hubbard1

Andreas Gross

Jack Parsons (rocket engineer)

John Whiteside "Jack" Parsons (born Marvel Whiteside Parsons;[nb 1] October 2, 1914 – June 17, 1952) was an American rocket engineer and rocket propulsion researcher, chemist, and Thelemite occultist. Associated with the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Parsons was one of the principal founders of both the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and the Aerojet Engineering Corporation. He invented the first rocket engine to use a castable, composite rocket propellant,[1] and pioneered the advancement of both liquid-fuel and solid-fuel rockets.

Born in Los Angeles, Parsons was raised by a wealthy family on Orange Grove Avenue in Pasadena. Inspired by science fiction literature, he developed an interest in rocketry in his childhood and in 1928 began amateur rocket experiments with school friend Ed Forman. He dropped out of Pasadena Junior College and Stanford University due to financial difficulties during the Great Depression, and in 1934 he united with Forman and graduate student Frank Malina to form the Caltech-affiliated Guggenheim Aeronautical Laboratory (GALCIT) Rocket Research Group, supported by Guggenheim Aeronautical Laboratory chairman Theodore von Kármán. In 1939 the GALCIT Group gained funding from the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) to work on Jet-Assisted Take Off (JATO) for the U.S. military. Following American entry into World War II, in 1942 they founded Aerojet to develop and sell their JATO technology; the GALCIT Group became JPL in 1943.

After a brief involvement with Marxism in 1939, Parsons converted to Thelema, the English occultist Aleister Crowley's new religious movement. In 1941, alongside his first wife Helen Northrup, Parsons joined the Agape Lodge, the Californian branch of the Thelemite Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.). At Crowley's bidding, he replaced Wilfred Talbot Smith as its leader in 1942 and ran the Lodge from his mansion on Orange Grove Avenue. Parsons was expelled from JPL and Aerojet in 1944 due to the Lodge's infamy and allegedly illicit activities, along with his hazardous workplace conduct.

In 1945 Parsons separated from Helen after having an affair with her sister Sara; when Sara left him for L. Ron Hubbard, he conducted the Babalon Working, a series of rituals designed to invoke the Thelemic goddess Babalon to Earth. He and Hubbard continued the procedure with Marjorie Cameron, whom Parsons married in 1946. After Hubbard and Sara defrauded him of his life savings, Parsons resigned from the O.T.O. and went through various jobs while acting as a consultant for the Israeli rocket program. Amid the climate of McCarthyism, he was accused of espionage and left unable to work in rocketry. In 1952, Parsons died at the age of 37 in a home laboratory explosion that attracted national media attention; the police ruled it an accident, but many associates suspected suicide or assassination.

Parsons' occult and libertarian polemical writings were published posthumously, with Western esoteric and countercultural circles citing him as one of the most significant figures in propagating Thelema across North America. Although academic interest in his scientific career was originally negligible, in subsequent decades historians came to recognize Parsons' contributions to rocket engineering. For these innovations, his advocacy of space exploration and human spaceflight, and his role in the founding of JPL and Aerojet, Parsons is regarded as among the most important figures in the history of the U.S. space program. He has been the subject of several biographies and fictionalized portrayals.

Babalon Working

The Babalon Working was a series of magic ceremonies or rituals performed from January to March, 1946 by author, pioneer rocket-fuel scientist, and occultist Jack Parsons and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. This ritual was essentially designed to manifest an individual incarnation of the archetypal divine feminine called Babalon. The project was based on the ideas of Aleister Crowley, and his description of a similar project in his 1917 novel Moonchild.

Babalon - Thelemic Goddess of Abominations - "The Scarlet Woman"

Babalon

Babalon (also known as the Scarlet Woman, Great Mother or Mother of Abominations) is a goddess found in the mystical system of Thelema, which was established in 1904 with English author and occultist Aleister Crowley's writing of The Book of the Law, her name being later given in other works. In her most abstract form, she represents the female sexual impulse and the liberated woman. In the creed of the Gnostic Mass she is also identified with Mother Earth, in her most fertile sense.

At the same time, Crowley believed that Babalon had an earthly aspect in the form of a spiritual office, which could be filled by actual women—usually as a counterpart to his own identification as "To Mega Therion" (The Great Beast)—whose duty was then to help manifest the energies of the current Aeon of Horus. He believed in his life the Lady of Babalon was personofied as Lady Leah Hirsig, who, after several portraits, was consecrated, taking the name Alostrael.

Her consort is Chaos, the "Father of Life" and the male form of the Creative Principle. Babalon is often described as being girt with a sword and riding the Beast. She is often referred to as a sacred whore, and her primary symbol is the Chalice or Graal.

As Crowley wrote in his
The Book of Thoth, "she rides astride the Beast; in her left hand she holds the reins, representing the passion which unites them. In her right she holds aloft the cup, the Holy Grail aflame with love and death. In this cup are mingled the elements of the sacrament of the Aeon."
